A newsletter of Napa Valley Community Foundation
April 2018
Dear Friends,

Once again, this community has stepped forward in a big way to help our neighbors in need.

Last month, we came to you for the second time since September to ask for support in helping eligible young people in Napa Valley pay for their DACA renewal application fees while the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program remains in place, so they can continue to work, support their families and/or pursue higher education in our community.

Our goal was to raise $40,000 to help an estimated 75 Dreamers -- and in the last month, 30 of you have contributed nearly  $20,000 toward that goal!

Those funds are already at work paying in-full the $495 per person DACA renewal application fee to help Napa Dreamers extend their lawful status in the U.S. while they still have a chance to do so.

We've also made a $2,500 general support grant to the International Institute of the Bay Area in recognition of the continued, time-sensitive work they are doing to renew DACA applications as quickly as possible.

Today, the DACA debate continues and Dreamers in Napa Valley and elsewhere face uncertain futures.

Will you help us get to the finish line and raise $20,000 to meet our $40,000 goal?

We won't stop standing with Dreamers.

Thank you for doing the same.

Sincerely yours,
