That quote may make you smile, but it points out a painful truth for those of us with FH: We are in a race for our lives. With early diagnosis and appropriate care, we can win.

You can help!

Beginning today and finishing on September 24 - FH Awareness Day - people impacted by FH are racing to raise funds for research, awareness and advocacy. We are challenging ourselves by walking, running, biking, swimming, surfing and more.

We aren't racing alone. Our healthcare providers, genetic counselors, friends, neighbors, colleagues, kids and families are joining us. We are sharing our stories , and asking everyone we know to support us.

Even if you can't sign up to race and raise funds, you can still make a difference. One in every 250 people has FH, but 90% are undiagnosed. This means they are at risk for early heart disease. But because they don't know, they aren't getting the care that could save their lives.
