hen she visited our Elston Avenue store last December, it was her small production Cabernet and Chardonnay that we flipped out over. On the spot, we ordered all we could get and are elated to offer them to you today!
Angela's 2016 Land of Saints Cabernet Sauvignon is an irresistible wine with a perfect balance of structure and finesse. She crafted a mere four barrels and we offer it for just $19.99. That's a crazy price for a small batch California Cabernet from a legendary winemaker.
We were also floored by her elegant 2018 Land of Saints Santa Barbara County Chardonnay, and offer it for an even lower price than the Cabernet!

2018 Land of Saints

Upon tasting this wine we declared... "Oh damn, that's good!" We were blown away by the creamy mouthfeel and the layers of golden apple, pear and stone fruit flavors on the palate, all supported by a white rock minerality. The finish is complex and lengthy, a fantastic fusion of mouthwatering acidity and creaminess.
Osbourne's deft use of neutral barrique for fermentation and aging, results in a clean, elegant and balanced Chardonnay that kept us coming back for more. Tasted over the course of three days, this wine continued to be fresh and exciting. It is delicious to drink all on its own, and its versatility makes it an ideal food wine, perfect with fish tacos with avocado crema, creamy Dijon chicken and soft rind cheeses.
This is a VERY cool bottle of wine. We are an enthusiastic 91 Points on this beautifully balanced expression of California with a touch of Burgundian sensibility. It will impress wine drinkers all over the spectrum! With only 1077 cases produced, there are just a few online listings for this wine. As usual, our price beats them all. At $17.99, you will love having a case of this charming Chardonnay in your cupboard!

2016 Land of Saints

While many Cabernets come at you like a linebacker, this one presents more like an Olympic gymnast - full of strength, grace and balance. Impressively structured with well-integrated tannins, its power unfolds as you swirl it in the glass. Enticing flavors of dark cherry, dried berries, pencil lead, cedar and mint reverberate from the first sip, finishing with fresh tobacco leaf and bitter dark chocolate. The evolution of this wine over four days was impressive, as it softened to reveal cranberry, spice box and smoky notes.
Angela sourced the fruit for this 2016 Cabernet from the Happy Canyon AVA, located at the intersection of the San Rafael Mountains and the Santa Ynez Mountains, a rare east to west running mountain range. These ranges create balanced growing conditions by trapping heat and protecting the area from intense ocean influences while still allowing for cooling fog to penetrate the vineyards. As a result, the area is uniquely suited for producing outstanding Bordeaux varietals and the Land of Saints Cabernet is a prime example!
Sip this nuanced Cabernet with some friends around the fire pit in your backyard or capitalize on the superb complexity of flavors and pair with steak frites or grilled lamb chops with fresh rosemary. Great to drink now and will reward five more years in the bottle as well. Like watching a gold medal winning balance beam routine, you are going to be wowed by the ease which this Cab combines finesse and unassuming power into a single bottle.
Only 98 cases were produced. After Angela poured this wine for us, we quickly pulled her local distributor aside and asked how much we could get. Just over 45 cases were still available at the winery and we grabbed them all. Looking online, we could not find a single listing for this tiny production Cabernet. Angelically priced at $19.99, this will quickly be snatched up by savvy Cab lovers!
