Training Programs
Reminder to all Trainers (formerly: Instructor Trainers)
All current Trainers must attend a Trainer Mandatory Update Clinic by December 31, 2018. There are two remaining Trainer Mandatory Update Clinics scheduled for 2018. The first is in June (Calgary) and the second is in November (Edmonton). Course information and links to registration are provided below. If you have already attended a Trainer Mandatory Update Clinic please disregard this reminder.

Trainers are responsible for preparing candidates to assume leadership roles as Lifesaving Society Instructors, Examiners, and Coaches. Trainers are responsible to teach, evaluate, and certify candidates for Lifesaving Society Instructor, Examiner and Coach certifications in the topical streams in which they are appropriately qualified. They may be appointed as a Mentor.
Prerequisite(s):  Application, leadership experience, current Lifesaving Instructor.
Candidates must complete the Course/Clinic Application Form and forward to the Society's office for approval prior to registering for course.

Water Smart Coordinator
The Lifesaving Society is seeking a summer student for the role of Water Smart Coordinator. The Water Smart Coordinator will assist in the promotion and delivery of the Society's Water Smart public education programs. For more details please view the job posting . The deadline for applications is this Friday, April 20.
Transferring Certifications from other Provinces
Please contact the Lifesaving Society Branch that you received your certification(s) from and request to transfer your records to the new Branch. For example, if you are moving from Alberta to British Columbia, you would call the Alberta Branch and request that your records be transferred to British Columbia. Alternately, if you are moving to Alberta from Ontario, you would call the Ontario Branch and request that your records be transferred to Alberta. Please also make sure that you provide your most current contact information (address, phone number and email) to both Branches.
Annual General Meeting and Branch Recognition Awards
Register  for our Annual General Meeting and Branch Recognition Awards on Friday, June 15. We will also provide a Branch Update following the AGM. The event will be held at the Cardel Theatre in Calgary.

Lifesaving Sport
2018 Alberta and Northwest Territories Pool Lifesaving Championships and Junior Games
Congratulations to all of the competitors who participated in the Alberta and Northwest Territories Pool Lifesaving Championships and Junior Games that were held at the Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre in Lethbridge from April 13-15. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the University of Lethbridge and Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre staff for their support. A big shout out to all of the amazing volunteers who worked so hard to make this event a success!  Special thanks to the Meet Manager Kim Jorgenson, Chief Referee Rob Leach and all of the Affiliate Clubs and coaches. 
Congratulations to the Wetaskiwin Orcas as the Overall and Junior Games Champions and the Calgary Winter Club Tsunamis as the Pool Lifesaving Champions!
The winners of the Simulated Emergency Response Competition (SERC) include athletes Skye McDonald, Jade Kawulych, Reese Foulston and Robert Ravenhorst representing the City of Calgary Poseidon.

2018 Canadian Pool Lifesaving Championships
The Lifesaving Society's Ontario Branch will host the 2018 Canadian Pool Lifesaving Championships on behalf of the Lifesaving Society Canada and the National Sport Commission.
