walk like an unitarian
There are still an intrepid group of walkers that stuck it out through the winter. Now that spring has arrived we are hoping more people would like to join us. Everyone is welcome!
For now this is our schedule:
  • Mondays we meet at Prospect Lake and walk around it once or twice.
  • Wednesdays we meet at Good Neighbors Meeting House on Corona and Columbia and walk long Shooks Run.
  • Fridays we meet at All Souls and walk along Monument Valley or wherever we want.
If it's too cold we notify people via email and walk at the Citadel. We walk from 10 to 11am. each time at a comfortable pace. We sometimes stop at a coffee house to chat and refuel. Its fun and oh so good for us! Ginny Rodriguez - [email protected], Betty Mitchell - [email protected]

happy 96th birthday, mary!
Best wishes to Mary Quan on her 96th birthday celebration recently.  A number of her friends had a great time singing to her while partaking of birthday cake and Hunan Springs cuisine.

facilities task force update
Shall we stay or shall we go? The facilities task force has been gathering information for the past 10 months about the status of our current building and options related to remaining at our current location or moving with all the options we could imagine. We were tasked with presenting our information to the congregation at this year's annual congregational meeting on 5/20. To help you understand the options, the task force will be holding a series of presentations after Sunday services to share the information. Please plan to attend at least one of these presentations so that we can be better prepared to make the best decision about our lovely 126-year-old building. Members of the task force are Jim Michali, Laurie Frydendall, Josh Cahill and Larry Norfleet. Dates of the remaining presentations are 4/15, and 5/6.

affinity groups
Our affinity groups are open to all! There is no enrollment period and no fee required. Friends are welcome! These groups share a common interest and provide opportunities to connect and deepen our fellowship outside of Sunday Service. Perhaps one is for you? For more information, please click here
RE religious exploration

mission: make it!
All Souls is excited to announce our summer RE programming, "Mission: Make It,' starting June 3rd! We will explore being producers and not just consumers while honoring our 5th UU Source, Science and Reason, and our 7th Principle, The Interdependent Web. Kids will be encouraged to use their creativity, logic, and reasoning skills as they learn how to accomplish a variety of "makes" from a wide range of activities. Let's use our open minds, loving hearts, and helping hands and make it happen!

leaders and assistants needed!
Make it with tools! Make it with fiber arts! Make it delicious! Make it beautiful! Make it with technology! Make it silly! Make it your own, with your own idea! Each project should be able to be accomplished in approximately 45 minutes and be appropriate for K-6th graders. "Makes" can be designed for the individual or as a group endeavor. Older kids can join in the class or assist, their choice. Leaders, pick your date and provide your make. Assistants, pick your date and join in the fun.  Click here to sign up or send an email to Laurie. Sign up now!

re registration
If you think All Souls is a fit for you and your children, please register your kids! Look for the light blue registration form at the RE Table. By doing so we get a chance to better know you and your children, be made aware of any concerns or allergies and it helps to better plan and keep you updated. There is no charge to register!

last sunday
Last Sunday we had a full house downstairs as we learned the art and mindfulness of juggling.  First we made our own juggling balls and then our guest presenter, Rosie Love, did a fabulous job engaging, entertaining, and teaching us about juggling.   Many thanks to Rosie Love, Michelle Freddolino, and Lynne Casebeer for helping make this fun day happen!

4/22
Our Air Element class will take a look at how love surrounds us in nature.  They will create their own imaginary animal by combining pictures of animal heads with different animal bodies and tails. Then they will get a chance to try a make their newly created animal out of clay. The Fire Element class explores justice as represented by the tool of the day, a flashlight. They will make beautiful luminaries out of gem stones and a mason jar. These luminaries are really quite spectacular!

4/29
We will focus on caring for the Earth in the Air Element class. The Fire Element class will explore atonement and how that could be represented by the tool of the day - a level.
