A Note from Mrs. Ryan    
Dear Parents, 

Construction is moving along on the rebuild of the preschool. The foundation will be poured tomorrow morning.  The framing for the two classrooms of our main building is nearing completion. Our students greatly enjoy watching the daily progress.
 
You may remember that for this year only, we converted to a semester system for report cards. This means that the next report card will not be issued until June. We sent a progress report in February and will be sending another progress report to you next week. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have questions.
 
This year we plan to put Global Mercy Day aside in favor of planning a more celebratory and fun-filled Field Day which will take place on Wednesday, June 6 th. This is a Student Council event and they have asked for help from our room parents to make the day extra special. If you have ideas or would like to help in any other way, please contact the room parents for your class.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS  2018-19
  • Incoming 4th grade girls transition into the plaid skirt.
  • All 4-8th girls must now be in the  new plaid skirt   (the old Denis Uniform plaid skirts no longer to be worn)
  • POLO Shirts: K-3rd girls now have the option wear the WHITE St. Rose logo polo shirt OR white middy blouse with their jumper.  The SR Grey logo polo looks great with navy shorts or pants.
  • POLO Shirts: We'd prefer that ALL students wear the St. Rose white or grey logo polo shirt daily. However, plain  white , short sleeve, no logo polo shirts may be purchased elsewhere. 
  • Dress Uniform: All K-6 boys and 4-8 girls must have at least 1 SR logo polo shirt.
  • ALL Incoming 7th & 8th students must have Cardinal sweatshirt for first day of school.
  • EMBROIDERY: We HIGHLY recommend that all students purchase sweatshirts or cardigan with name embroidery. It saves a lot of time reconnecting lost items back with it's owner! Lost and found items without names basically become first come - first get!
UNIFORM ORDER for AUGUST Delivery 
The next ordering opportunity begins now for August delivery before school begins.

This is the only opportunity to ensure that your child has everything required for the first few months of school. Please plan accordingly as all students are expected to be in uniform August 22nd. (The next ordering opportunity after this will not be delivered until late October)
  • ORDER FORM has been updated. There are some pricing adjustments. To make ordering easier, there are now separate order forms for BOYS & GIRLS. Please use 1 order form per student.

  • Uniform TRY-ON dates are set for parents & student to try on sample sizes and place order. This is the only opportunity where parents can pay using credit cards during the year. 
  • Uniform sizing is often different than normal retail sizing. It is important that students try items on before ordering. 
  • Please note, we can no longer accept returns or exchanges for uniform items. St. Rose does not carry an inventory supply of clothing, only sample sizes for trying on.
  • Dates:  
    • Monday June 4th:  2:45PM - 4PM (Incoming K families 4pm-5pm)
    • Tuesday June 5th:  7AM - 8AM  (Incoming K families 8am-9am)

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS
Student Council sponsored Talent Show will be held on Friday, May 11th at 1:30PM.

AUDITIONS for students will be on the following days:

  • Tue. April 24th or Wed. April 25th - 12:45pm - 5th - 8th Graders

St. Rose Summer Sport Camps
For over 25 years, St. Rose has offered Summer Sport Camps for it's students, friends and family.

Our camps are not only FUN, but are geared toward the sports that are offered in the North Bay Catholic School League in which we are a member of. (Our VB & BB camps are run by local high school coaches)

In case you missed it & OTHER STUFF!
It's ALLERGY SEASON!
The office is getting lots of visits from children suffering from seasonal allergies.
 As you can imagine, nothing is more distracting and miserable for a child who is in class suffering from itchy scratchy red eyes, runny nose and sneezing. To prevent us from calling you to pick up your child, and to keep  your child from suffering unnecessarily, please be sure they take allergy medication before coming to school in the morning. The school office can not dispense allergy medication to children.  Thank you!

Field trip drivers, chaperones & Volunteer Policy
All volunteers must comply with Diocese requirements.
1. Background check (fingerprinting)     2. Complete Safe Environment course online.

Field trip Drivers must provide the following to school office:
1. Declaration Page of your insurance policy, showing coverage amounts, cars, covered driver names, and expiration date of policy. 
2. Insurance coverage's for drivers must meet or exceed Diocese minimum requirements: 
$100,000 bodily injury per person
$300,000 bodily injury per accident  
$100,000 property damage per accident
3. Must provide current photo copy of valid CA drivers licence to school office
