Tell It To Two

Tell It To Two is a challenge to all members to pray for the salvation of two people and to pray for the opportunity to tell those two people the gospel.

Duane Pfluger has two he is praying for, for the gospel's sake.  One, a man, he has invited to come  on Wednesday nights.  The man has come now on consecutive  Wednesday nights and has visited a few  Sunday mornings.  Duane uses his friendship to encourage him toward the gospel.

The other is the grown daughter of a friend who lives in South Austin.  Duane invited her to try a woman's Bible Study  on Wednesday night, which she has.  He is hoping she will attend worship  on Sunday.

Also, Duane has a friend who is a member of Maxwell Baptist Church which is between San Marcos and Lockhart.  He has invited this friend to observe our Drive Through Prayer ministry and now the friend has gotten the folks at Maxwell Baptist Church to hold their first Drive Through Prayer event last Saturday!  Many people honked and gave thumbs up, and six drivers pulled in for prayer and gospel influence!

We'd love to hear your Tell It To Two updates and prayer requests! Email [email protected]

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Philemon 6

Children's Ministry News
by Ethan Graves

Life in Hays Hills Children's Ministry is awesome! Thank you for entrusting us with your children  on Sunday  mornings and  Wednesday  nights! One of my goals is to connect with families so that all parents know what their children are up to every week. Therefore, I am creating a parent email list. Through the email list I will be able to give you regular updates about all the exciting aspects of Children's Ministry, provide helpful resources to you, and make sure you are always up-to-date on the latest HHCM news. If you would like to be apart of the list, please email me  indicating you would like to join. We also have a HHCM Facebook page where I post announcements, helpful resources, and other pertinent information. Liking  the page  will allow you to see those updates so please consider clicking "Like."

If you serve as an AWANA volunteer , I would like to host you and your families for lunch to show gratitude for all your service and to hear from you about how we can create the most faithful, safe, and fun environment possible for our children. Lunch will be in Building A after the 10:45 service on May 6th. If you will be able to attend, please RSVP by May 2nd to [email protected]. I look forward to sharing a meal with you! I will also be hosting lunch for Bible Life teachers and Children's Worship helpers; I am still working on the date and will let you know ASAP.

The theme for AWANA on 4/18 is Scripture T-shirt night and on 4/25 it is Double or Nothing (earn double points for everything).

Wednesday May 16th will be our AWANA Verse-a-Thon. On this night, we will have our AWANA participants recite as many verses as they can. Since everyone will recite their verses at the same time, we need extra adult helpers that night. Would you consider coming from 6:50 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. to help our adult leaders listen to their group recite verses? If you are able and willing to help in this way please email me to let me know. Thank you!  We are excited to see how our children are getting the scriptures into their heads, hands, and hearts!

Sidewalk greeters needed!  We have greeters and we have parking lot greeters.   But we want to have several sidewalk greeters to meet people in front of Bldg. D as they approach.  Contact  [email protected] if you are interested!

Our Hays Hills West Oaks Nursing home ministry would like for Hays Hills to help out with this cause:
The temperatures are rising in Central Texas which means Senior Care Center of West Oaks is partnering with Family Elder Care for Summer Fan Drive.  This annual events raises fans and funds for Texans in need, including senior adults, adults with disabilities, and families with young children, who cannot afford to stay cool on their own.  We are seeking your help in making this year's fan drive bigger than ever by donating new or gently used box fans for this cause.  You can leave donations int he Resource center of Bldg. G. (the skinny hallway) Thanks!

CLC News

I would like to introduce you to the teachers of our Monkeys classroom, Mrs. Roxie Avant and Mrs. Rachel Bickford!  The Monkeys is one of our three Pre-K classrooms, and last week they were learning all about insects!  The class went on a nature walk with magnifying glasses to the prayer garden to get a closer look at some of the creatures that God made!  They had so much fun searching for real bugs!   Many of our children at CLC have been fascinated recently by the caterpillars they find on the playground!  It is so sweet to see them be gentle with them and trying to protect them.  They are learning empathy and learning to care for the things God made!

The older children at CLC recently had a visit from Pastor Aaron who introduced us to Pastor Ethan!  Pastor Aaron and Pastor Ethan sang songs with the children and even did some dancing with them!  Then Pastor Aaron told the story of how the disciples where casting their nets trying to catch fish and were coming up with nothing.  Jesus called out to them from the shore and told them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat.  They listened to Jesus, and with His help they were able to catch all the fish they needed:  153 of them!  Pastor Aaron reminded the children that Jesus can do anything and we should always trust Him and keep Him in our hearts!

May you be blessed this week!

From Pastor Aaron

I'm eager to see what the Lord does on Sunday.

Jeff Steed from the Southern Baptist of Texas Foundation will share briefly in our services before a lunch presentation on how to love God and your family by preparing your estate. He'll also share about the proposed creation of a Neighbors & Nations Endowment.

As we continue our study of John 4, Polly Powers will share her testimony in the 9:30am service and Lita Rendon will share her testimony in the 10:45am service. I know you're going to be blessed as you hear what the Lord has done in their lives.

Scott & Becky Placke, our missionary partners among the Ngindo in Tanzania will also be sharing briefly in both services before returning  at 6pm to share in depth about what the Lord is doing among the Ngindo and answer your questions. I'm praying the Lord will lay it on the he arts of several of you to come and not only greet the Plackes, but to take it upon yourself to be a source of encouragement to them.
