Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

A vastly popular TED talk by Simon Sinek encourages everyone to start with the profound question of why we do what we do.  Rather than what we do or how we do it; the most important question is "Why?"

At Christ Covenant School a flurry of activities are about to begin in less than a month.  Sports Camps, summer reading, parent interviews are underway, and new Parent Orientation on August 10 th and Open House on the 14 th are just around the corner.  Before we loose the ease of summer, take a moment with me to remember why we do what we do.

Operating a Christian School provides many valuable services such as delivering quality education and raising leaders who can transform the culture.  These are compelling causes and certainly drive us forward every day.  Additionally our school is launching our new Junior Kindergarten program to provide a service for our younger siblings and prepare students for a long, successful pathway in our community.   Providing this safe haven and loving environment are priorities of Mrs. Ruthie Bagnal and Mrs. Kathleen Randall, who will be leading these little ones.

But beyond our mission to love, educate, and equip our students to change the world, there is a greater WHY at the heart of our activities.  Jesus says it like this in Luke 11:18  "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them."  We teach, we play soccer, we meet parents and do community together all so that these little ones would come to know HIM.  HE is the WHY of our mission.  Everything revolves around Him, and not us.

As we look to start another new year, let us start once again at the beginning with Him.  Jesus is why we do school.  We love, educate, and equip not only for us or the many benefits that Christian education provides for our children, our community, the country, the world; but because He is worthy of all we do and because He has said we ought to let the little children come to Him.

Pray with me that will happen throughout this year.

Head of School

Harris Teeter VIC Cards

Congratulations!  We are so proud of our 2016-17 earnings.  If you have a chance, stop by Harris Teeter, Bells Fork to check out the board.  Thanks to our exceptional parent participation rate, and the diligence of Parent Service Fellowship coordinator Mrs. Lorinda Parker,  CCS is listed as the top earner for our area!

It's time to do it again!  2017-18

We are not permitted to re-use numbers from prior enrollments so we need for you to re-submit your numbers.  Here's how to link your card:

1) Reply to this e-mail or e-mail Lorinda Parker, Lfparker0611@gmail.com with the following:  Last Name and either your phone number (the one Harris Teeter has in their records) or your VIC card number (11 digits); OR,
2) Ask the cashier or customer service counter at HT to link your VIC card to CCS (our code is 4658).

Thanks for your help!  We look forward to this being another successful year for CCS/Harris Teeter Together in Education Program.
Volunteers Needed
We need 4 volunteer parents to sit at the Harris Teeter linking table at Open House!  All you'll need to do is sit at the table to gather HT VIC card submission and possibly hand out candy to families who link their card.

Open House is Monday, August 14, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  We would like 1 parent at each location from 5:00 - 6:00 and another from 6:00 - 7:00 to help with this Parent Service Fellowship fundraising activity.  If you're interested in helping, please either reply to this e-mail or contact Lorinda Parker, lfparker0611@gmail.com.
 Class Lists?
When will class lists be published?  It's that time of year and everyone is so excited to see their class assignments.

You can expect the class lists to be published in the newsletter in early August.
