Run or Walk? 5K or 10K?
Enjoy a scenic run around the beautiful grounds of Burke Lake Park. The 10k runs along a wooded path and takes runners around the lake while the 5k follows a scenic tree-lined road through the park.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will help fund
PACT summer camp scholarship opportunities for children living in homeless shelters and supportive housing in Fairfax County.

REI Helps Bikers & Hikers Navigate GCCCT
Braddock District Supervisor John Cook, FCPA Executive Director Kirk Kincannon, FCPF Executive Director Bobbi Longworth and Director of Development Margaret Thaxton joined REI's Partnership and Philanthropy Manager, Matt Liddle, Outdoor Programs and Outreach Market Coordinator, Stephanie Piperno, other REI team members FCPA and FCPF staff to witness the most recent results of this valuable partnership.
Friday, April 13 was a 'lucky' day for Fairfax County parks! Representatives from the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) and Foundation (FCPF) gathered at Americana Park to recognize
Recreation Equipment, Inc.'s recent grant that funded 15 trail way-finding signs located along the popular
Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail (GCCCT).
Over the years, REI invested more than $60,000 to the Fairfax County Park Foundation (FCPF) to support the FCPA
Invasive (Plant) Management Program, trails, biking and more. Additional in-kind support of REI gear and prizes helped encourage many adults and children to 'find their way outside'!

RecPAC (Recreation for 'Pretty Awesome Children')
Children of all backgrounds stay active and learn at Fairfax County Park Authority's summer camps!
Register for FCPA Camps.
Parents are busy planning an active summer for their children. Some of our neighbors in need fear that their children won't be able to attend camp. Of the 66,881 people in Fairfax County live in poverty, 18,857 are children!
Many Park Foundation supporters received a Rec-PAC appeal letter in the mail about the critical need in Fairfax County to help send low-income children to camp. Scholarships provide campers with indoor and outdoor games, team sports, talent shows, nature exploration, storytelling and craft activities.
All camp activities encourage creativity in a supervised and safe environment. Through the generous donations to the Park Foundation, the Park Authority was able to award more than 2,000 scholarships to children from low-income households to attend Rec-PAC summer camps.
Please consider
making an online donation of $1,000, $300, $100, or $50 or whatever you can to help send a needy child to camp. Your gift will provide an enriching summer for some
Pretty Awesome Children (PAC)!
