Meet Our Staff

Mrs. Katie Roling is a sixth grade homeroom teacher and teaches sixth grade religion and literature as well as seventh grade literature. Mrs. Roling is a graduate of the Jefferson City public schools. She is also a graduate of Columbia College in which she earned a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She then worked for state government, including the personnel and the Governor's office, for over 10 years. While expecting her second child, Katie decided to leave the work force and become a stay-at-home mom, which she cherished every minute. Ten years ago, she was asked to cover a maternity leave at IC School. Those ten weeks changed her life and she fell in love with teaching. After all her children were in school full time Mrs. Roling went back to school at William Woods University and completed a second degree, this one in elementary education. Mrs. Roling is a native of Jefferson City and has been married 22 years. She and her husband Jim have four children, Cassidy (junior at William Woods University), Jordan (freshman at Truman State University), Riley (junior at Helias), and Hunter (freshman at Helias).
Often times Katie can be found cheering for her children whether it's at a college track meet, a baseball/softball game, a shooting match, a wrestling match or giving a standing ovation at a choral or stage performance. Katie enjoys photography and then scrapbooking the pictures she has taken (much to her children's dismay).

Virtus
According to the Missouri Department of Social Services, in Fiscal Year 2017 there were 1132 substantiated incidents of child sexual abuse in Missouri involving 1261 children, 214 of whom were in the counties of our diocese.  You can help prevent this from happening and ensure that our parishes, schools and homes are safe places for all children.  The Diocese of Jefferson City will hold a VIRTUS® Protecting God's Children class on  Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alphonse J. Schwartze Catholic Center, Jefferson City.  The Catholic Center is located behind the Cathedral of St. Joseph.  Class will be held in Room 306.  Participants should register in advance at  www.virtus.org.  Please arrive early so that the class may begin on time.  Due to the nature of the subject, children are discouraged from attending.

This program is one component of the overall effort to protect God's children and vulnerable adults.  All employees and volunteers with ongoing and unsupervised contact with children and youth are required to attend a Protecting God's Children session.  All parents, grandparents and other adults in the parish community are encouraged to attend.  To view valuable resources regarding the protection of children and vulnerable adults, please go to  https://diojeffcity.org/child-and-youth-protection-2/,   www.virtus.org or the USCCB's website at  http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/child-and-youth-protection/index.cfm.

Construction Areas

The state is fixing the Visitor Parking Lot across the alley from our play area. Please use caution when entering and exiting the alley and on occasion traffic may move a little slower so plan ahead. Be sure not to form two incoming car lines until you have reached the gates to school, as that exit needs to remain open for the construction.
They are also beginning work again on the Selinger Centre and there will be construction vehicles in the alley. Please be extra careful when using that area.
Box Tops
One last BOXTOPS CONTEST to end the year!

Starting NOW until May 4th, BoxTops will be counted and the winning grade will receive an extra recess courtesy of Mrs. Trachsel!
Guidelines:
  1. Collect BoxTops - each one will be counted.
  2. Expired BoxTops will count AGAINST your grade's total.
  3. Boxtops earned on the app can be counted; a screenshot should be sent to Melissa at 573.680.2703 with the grade that should be credited.
  4. Please turn BoxTops into your homeroom teacher or label with the grade to ensure they get counted towards the contest.
  5. TIPS: Ask family, neighbors, and friends to save them for you - each one is worth .10 or more for the school - this is free money for us! Use the app - it's quick and easy. Turn them in - they do expire and expired ones do not get credited.
            THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

We will be receiving another check for almost $500!  Please keep up the good work and send in those box tops!
