ATIXA Launches a Sixth Community of Practice & Membership Category for ADA/504 Coordinators
ATIXA announces the addition of an
ADA/504 Coordinator Community of Practice,
offering a specialized home for administrators with oversight of disability-based discrimination under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Communities of Practice are available as membership levels within ATIXA to the meet the unique needs of particular members' practice areas or constituencies.
This newly added membership category is for those who serve their schools or colleges as an ADA/504 Coordinator or have an interest in disability law, policy, and best practices. Many Title IX Coordinators also have overlapping responsibility as ADA/504 Coordinators, and member benefits are tailored specifically to the unique requirements of the position.
Based on member feedback, ATIXA is implementing a dedicated listserv within this Community of Practice, and staffing this specialized listserv with two resident ADA/504/disability law experts.
Saundra Schuster, J.D.
and
Paul Grossman, J.D.
will offer a concierge-level of service to members that assures high-quality and timely responses to all listserv questions and member needs.

Community of Practice affords the levels of expertise you've come to expect from ATIXA, applied to the disability field, with a special focus on the intersections between disability and Title IX. By creating connections with other peers within a Community of Practice, participants have the opportunity to discuss successes and challenges, identify trends and best practices, and offer issue-specific guidance, all while breaking down the barriers of isolation in their work.
