Saturday, March 7th 

Start off the day with the Statehood Day Celebration presented by the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and then visit five historical locations for special tours, exhibits and even a mock debate.

Parent & Me Paint Day
Nellie Dog Pottery & Paints will be hosting a Parents & Me Paint Day on Saturday, February 29th. This is a morning of fun and bonding while you paint a Llama plaque and a Nellie Dog staff members reads the book "Llama, Llama Mess, Mess, Mess" by Anna Dewdney. Advanced registration can be completed on Nellie Dog's website or by calling the store. 

Where's The Line? Twisting Time
Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is introducing a new archaeological series, "Where's the Line?" on Saturday, February 29th. Join our rangers and archaeologists in this series of programs investigating the blurry lines that exist in archaeology that lead to important questions. Discover the blurry lines in time by comparing your own timeline to prehistoric timelines. This is open to all ages. 


Kids Nature Zone Owl Prowl
Join Ms. Myranda and her special guest Sayre Flannagan for an after-dark adventure on Saturday, February 29th. After a short hike, attempt to call in screech and barred owls for a closer look at these amazing birds. This is family-friendly for all ages. Make sure to wear warm clothes and bring along a flashlight. 

Statehood Era Architecture
Kevin Coleman will present a slide show of the earliest surviving buildings in Chillicothe and Ross County on Sunday, March 1st. Learn about the construction, styling, use and alterations of these buildings. There will be photos of buildings of the First Capital and vicinity - from settlement starting in 1795 and into the 1820s. 

Pioneer Center Art Showcase Opening Reception
The Pioneer Center in partnership with several area organizations, is proud to present the artistic work of people with developmental disabilities. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, March 5th and the artwork will be on display throughout the month of March.

The mission of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau is the growth and prosperity of area economic development through tourism. The Bureau's primary focus is to assist, attract and educate residents, travelers, and partners. It will function as an economic driver of the hospitality industry in general through promotion of extended or overnight visits to the areas of Chillicothe and Ross County, Ohio.
