Healthy vs. Unhealthy Habits
Hello Get Moving SSF participants!

This email marks the first in a series of 10 weekly check-ins for the Fall quarter that are dedicated to giving you tips and advice on adapting a healthy lifestyle. While taking a Parks and Recreation class is a wonderful way to get moving, health is about more than exercise -- it is about dedication! The purpose of this weekly newsletter is to share health recommendations to keep you motivated and engaged during your health journey. Be sure to respond to our giveaway question at the end of this email!

We hope you walk away from these emails with inspiration to improve your health and overall happiness!
This week's theme is Healthy vs. Unhealthy Habits!

Unhealthy habits hold us back from embracing a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes we fall into unhealthy habits because of stress, financial limitations, or addiction (such as sugar or nicotine). Identifying why we have adapted our unhealthy habits will help to conquer them. More so, identifying why we want to curb unhealthy habits will motivate us to keep practicing healthier alternatives.
Action Item: Identify your good and bad habits
Moving Through the Week:

  • Acknowledge when you are committing a bad habit.
  • Think about why you would like to change it.
  • Act on it: stop a bad habit by replacing it with a better one. Stop drinking soda by drinking more water; put down the screen and pick up the phone to call a friend. There is no better time to start changing your bad habits than now!
Giveaway Opportunity:
Respond to the following question for your name to be placed in a raffle for a $50 Target gift card! Each week is an opportunity to win. Raffle ends after Week 10. Click on the question to submit your response.
