When you register, you can also pre-pay for Esther's book!

Esther Wojcicki is an award-winning educator, journalist, non-profit leader, and best-selling author. Esther will share her tried-and-tested methods for raising happy, healthy, successful children using  Trust, Respect, Independence, Collaboration, and Kindness  (TRICK), based on her experience as a legendary teacher and mother of three successful daughters:
  • Anne Wojcicki, 23andMe Co-founder & CEO
  • Janet Wojcicki, Fulbright-winning Anthropologist & Pediatrician
  • Susan Wojcicki, YouTube's CEO
Wojcicki's methods are the opposite of helicopter parenting. As we face an epidemic of parental anxiety, Wojcicki is here to say: relax. Allow teenagers to pick projects that relate to the real world and their own passions, and let them figure out how to complete them. Above all, let your child lead.

Carondelet Ventures Hackathon
Friday, February 7 I 8 AM-5 PM I Sign-up Today

On February 7, Carondelet Ventures will host a hackathon in partnership with WIT (Whatever It Takes ). This event will take place at the Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation, and it's an opportunity for Carondelet students to come up with solutions (aka "hacks") to problems connected to Teen Stress.

No experience necessary... Teams will form at the event and work together to solve challenges faced by teens: lack of sleep, college pressure, and parent/teen communication. Through a design thinking process, each team will understand the problem, create an original product or service to solve the problem, prototype and test their solution, and pitch it to a panel of real-world experts interested in funding projects.

A few important details:
- The event is open to all Carondelet students, and there is no cost to participate.
- We will accept up to 50 students based on the thoughtfulness of their responses to the questions submitted via the form.
- Every participant will earn a WIT Design Thinking Badge and a certificate of recognition, and t he team with the best pitch will earn $150 and support to launch their product or service!

This is a great experience for students to leverage for their future.
