PTA General Association Meeting

Walnut Grove PTA's first General Association Meeting is this  Wednesday, August 22nd at 7:00pm in the WG library.

If you are a part of the Walnut Grove community, we want to see you! These meetings are our chance to talk together about the PTA's enrichment offerings for the upcoming year, and discuss and approve the budget and calendar for the 2018-19 school year.

The Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC) is a life experience program designed to build into kid' lives the character traits of confidence, perseverance, leadership, problem solving, yeamwork and trust, to name a few. This is accomplished through an outdoor wilderness experience.

Back to School Family Social

Our Back to School Family social is this  Friday, August 24th from 6:00-8:00pm. Head over to WG for a fun night of catching up with school friends, mingling with other families and hearing the laughter of all of our Roadrunners as they run around and play!

Namaste Pizza and Mustache Mike's Italian Ice will both be there to sell some delicious food and treats, and water will be provided. In addition, we will have music and a complimentary face painter (same one that was at last year's Monster Mash, she's amazing!) there too!  Feel free to bring a blanket and hang out on the grass for awhile!

We hope to see you there!!

Library Volunteers Needed

A message from Annette Sodergren:

Love to read books?  Enjoy the solitude that a library provides?  If so, volunteering in the Walnut Grove Library may be just right for you!  Ongoing parent support is essential to our library's success.

What does volunteering in the library mean?  It means: book shelving (both alphabetical and Dewey Decimal order), helping students find 'just right books' and sometimes assisting with various tasks to further the library processing of books, etc.

If you are interested, please contact me via email.  Thank you, again, for your support. I very much appreciate it and look forward to meeting with you.

Mixed Bag Designs Fundraiser

Help Support the 4th Grade Coloma Trip!

The 4th graders are doing a Mixed Bags fundraiser to raise necessary funds for their trip to Coloma. You can help by purchasing eco-friendly tote bags, wrapping paper, kitchenware & more!

The fundraiser runs from August 17th through September 7th. You can purchase items through a Walnut Grove 4th grader, or online using the link below.

Thanks for your support!

Pleasanton Traffic Concerns

Back to School Traffic!

Do you have any concerns about the traffic around school? If you have any practical requests for the city planners, such as a new sign or a request for a traffic light, please attend the City of Pleasanton's Bike, Pedestrian and Trails committee meeting, which meets on the 4th Monday of every month.

The meetings are open to the public and residents may speak at the start of the meeting for up to 3 minutes. They don't have to stay for the whole meeting.

The next meeting is on Monday, August 27th at 6.45 in the Pleasanton Senior Center at 5353 Sunol Blvd.

Please consider attending a meeting, it's a great way to make your voice heard on such an important safety issue.
