NO SCHOOL MONDAY, 2/17/20
Words with Wilson
This week my focus is on the wonderful things going on in our PK-2nd Grade. It is always fun to watch the learning that takes place in our younger grades. Several of our younger students are participating in our Sculpting Club that meets Wednesdays after school. We have so much fun on Fridays in the lunch room. We read stories, tell jokes and share poems. They love to sing silly songs, and their energy is contagious.

There are also many great things going on in our classrooms:

In Mrs. Gann’s PK class, they practiced their writing. They also made love trees for Valentine’s Day.

In both Mrs. Plummer’s and Mrs. Jordan’s Kindergarten classes, they decorated Valentine boxes into "Love Bugs". They also made George Washington and Abraham Lincoln pictures. They discussed showing kindness to others through their words and actions.

Also in Kindergarten, students have been practicing counting to 100 while throwing pretend snowballs to a partner, kissing their brains because they can answer questions about the world, learning about the months of the year and what special holidays are in each month, learning how to play “Heads Up 7 Up” from our principals of the day Maggie and Vivie Hayes, and learning how to play Candy Land during recess.

In Mrs. Border’s 1st Grade class, they worked on addition with regrouping using pencils and paper clips as spinners to get their addends!
In Miss Leppert’s 2nd Grade class, they wrote about someone they love a lot. They learned about regrouping in math, and are quickly becoming regrouping masters.

In Mrs. DeArmond’s/Miss Egan’s 2nd grade class, they did a rooted in reading activity. They read the story “Henry’s Freedom Box,” and talked about mood and the shift from sad to happy.

In Mrs. Elam’s music class, our kindergarten students wrote their own rhythm songs and performed them on the djembe drum.

In Pre-K art class, they painted Valentines with shaving cream.

In Mrs. Elam’s 1st Grade Art class, they read the story” Love Monster,” and then made their own.

It was another great week at St. Roch Catholic School! I truly appreciate the time an effort that our PK-2nd grade teachers put into the planning of their lessons. Everytime you walk by, learning is engaging and enjoyable. There is also never a shortage of hugs. We love our PK-2nd grade teachers!
Re-enrollment
Re-enrollment is now open for all of our returning families. You should have received an email with instructions on how to complete the re-enrollment process. Everything will be ran through our FACTS system. We have had a few questions that are addressed below in order to help everyone understand this new process. Please address any additional questions to Mrs. Littell via email - slittell@strochindy.org
Parent FAQ's
How do I re-enroll my child?
To re-enroll please visit www.factsmgt.com and log in to the family portal as a parent. (Contact Mrs.Littell by email if you are having any issues with this.) Once logged in there should be a menu on the left for enrollment. All eligible students in your family should be listed. If you have a child at home that is eligible for kindergarten or pre-k they should also be listed as an option for registration. You are welcome to register them at this time as they would fall into our returning family category. If you have an eligible student that is not listed and you would like to enroll them please contact Mrs. Littell.

What is the District Code when logging into FACTS?
SRCS-IN

Has tuition for next year been set?
No, tuition is not yet established for the 2020-2021 school year. A slight increase is expected. Please refer to our current tuition rates in order to estimate your upcoming tuition. Click here to view current tuition.

How much is the Registration Fee and when is it due?
The registration fee is $100 per student and due at the time of registration. However, if you are unable to pay the fee at this time, it is still encouraged to begin the registration process and then return to it once you are able to pay the fee. All registration fees should be paid no later than April 1st, 2020. Your child will not be registered until this fee has been paid.

What is the FACTS Tuition Enrollment Fee?
FACTS charges a fee in order to manage your tuition plan. During re-enrollment you will be asked to select a payment plan for your tuition. Depending on the plan you choose the fee will be in the amount of either $20 or $50 (per family). This fee will not be immediately charged at the time you choose your payment plan. It will only be charged once your tuition is established and posted. If you will be receiving financial aid, an SGO and/or a Voucher that covers the entire cost of your tuition then the fee will be automatically omitted. The fee will only be charged if you have a remaining balance, once all financial aid has been applied, and when your tuition plan goes into effect.

No Greater Love
Parents - Experience the Unconditional Love of Christ this Lent - be a part of “No Greater Love” program at St. Roch - Offered Monday mornings and Thursday evenings
In No Greater Love, You Will Experience the Unconditional Love Christ Has for You. We often hear about Jesus’ passion and death, but imagine experiencing them for the very first time. In No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion, we are going to walk step-by-step with Jesus on his journey from his agony in the garden to his crucifixion on Calvary. Along the way, we will unpack the biblical background to these events, the prophecies, and most especially, the ways Jesus is inviting us to walk more closely with him today. No Greater Love is a five-part video Bible study program offered Monday mornings at 7:45 am (beginning March 2) and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm (beginning Feb. 27). Suggested offering for participation is $20 each to help cover study journal, book, and other materials.
