KBIS 2020 Kitchen and Bath Trends

Last week was the KBIS (Kitchen Bath Industry)Show in Las Vegas. Here are some of the innovative trends spotted at this show.

Dark Black Finishes
Black appliances are back! This dark hue was shown in cabinets, back splash tiles, and in appliances. This timeless color is a big change from the all white kitchen trend.

Free Standing Tub
This trend has been gaining popularity for a few years. Free standing tubs add a look of elegance and sophistication to any bathroom. Freestanding tubs can fit in a variety of styles, from farmhouse chic to minimalist spa. This trend is one to help people de-stress and to have a soothing bathroom.

 Mixing Metals
This is a brand new trend. Usually when picking finishes for a kitchen homeowners stick with one finish, but this new exciting trend mixes it up. This eclectic trend mixes glossy, matte and brushed to give a fresh style.

Cleaning a Dishwasher

Even though you run a dishwasher with soap and water, it still needs to be cleaned. You want your dishwasher to be able to run at its maximum efficiency. Following these simple tips will help the life span and quality of cleaning.

Pull Out Racks
Pull out each rack and look through the dishwasher, do you see any loose pieces of food or cutlery that needs to be removed? Is there anything blocking the sprayers?

Cleaning the Filter
The filter can be found underneath the spinning sprayers. This is a removable piece and should be rinsed off in the sink weekly. This will help with drainage.

Vinegar Rinse
Once you have cleaned out the filter and any loose food particles it is time to do a vinegar rinse. In an empty dishwasher place a cup of white vinegar on the top rack and run a complete cycle. This rinse should be done every 2-3 months.

 Winter Savings

When you purchase a full kitchen in February, Kitchen Tech will give you a Kohler Bellera faucet and matching soap dispenser
