Dear St. Michael Catholic School Families,

We are writing this morning with a quick status update on COVID-19.  Yesterday evening, another private school confirmed that two members of their school community had come into contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19. That school shut down effective immediately.

We have a couple of students who have family members at this school. Fortunately, according to the CDC matrix, we are considered at "no risk" of possible transference into our community due to the number of degrees of separation from the person who actually tested positive.

Regardless, out of an abundance of caution, we have asked those particular SMCS families to remain at home through spring break.

We currently have no plans to shut down following spring break, but the situation is evolving rapidly. We continue to prepare for all possibilities.

Any updates requiring specific action or a change in policy will be shared via email.

Thank you for your support of our school community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Cox and Nurse Diaz
