Well, it's mid-August! We've been enjoying the bounty from our garden. It's been a highly unusual harvest for us. We've gotten plenty of jalapeno and green peppers and basil.

However, we couldn't get our tomatoes to grow. All of the tomato plants died - except for one. So far, we've only gotten three tomatoes. The one surviving plant only has one tomato on it. That plant looks like it's dying, too. Oh well, I guess I don't have the talent to grow tomatoes, at least not this year. If you have any tomato-growing advice to share then please let me know!
Genesis 2:8 - And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Speaking of gardens, just writing this newsletter makes me think about another garden.

The Garden of Eden.

For some reason, I've been thinking about the Garden of Eden a lot lately. Everything in that garden was perfect. I wonder how the fruit tasted in the Garden of Eden. I'm thinking it was luscious and sweet. The trees were probably big and strong. I'm sure the Garden of Eden was a beautiful sight to see.

But then, Adam and Eve sinned and they were banned from the garden.

Genesis 3:24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

The cherubim guarded the entrance so that Adam and Eve could not re-enter the garden. Adam and Eve then had to work hard and toil in that soil to make a living. Eve had to suffer childbirth pains while having her children.

What's the point in me mentioning all of this? Actually, I'm not really sure! I know know I've been thinking about the Garden of Eden so much and I just wanted to share my thoughts with you. Do you remember learning about The Garden of Eden when you were a child? Did you learn about it in Sunday school, or, did your parents teach you about it?
The Underground Railroad Brides Collection is available in both paperback and
e-book! You can also find it at most major bookstores as well as a few Walmart locations! My historical novella, The Bakery Bride, is by far the strongest story that I've ever written. We've also been getting some wonderful reviews for this historical collection:
I just had to mention that!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer! The kids will be back in school soon, so, enjoy these last few summer days with your kids!
