NABCEP is Looking For New PVIP Exam Committee Members
|
Members of the PVIP Exam Committee will work on
item development & validation, test assembly, review & revision, and standard setting to maintain NABCEP's strong exam development process
.
Volunteers are essential to NABCEP's effort to create and deliver a practical and respected professional certification program. Volunteers are expected to work to help further NABCEP's mission, "To support, and work with, the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries, professionals, and stakeholders to develop and implement quality credentialing and certification programs for practitioners."
NABCEP is excited to bring new PVIP Exam Committee volunteers to its team of industry-recognized experts.

Two Companies Earn NABCEP Company Accreditation
|
NABCEP would like to congratulate two companies for recently earning NABCEP Company Accreditation:
NABCEP Company Accreditation is the highest recognition of quality assurance for solar installation companies in North America.
NABCEP's Company Accreditation program provides a way for renewable energy installation companies to distinguish themselves by adhering to a set of industry-recognized best practices. The program establishes a set of renewable energy industry benchmark requirements concerning staffing and policies.

| Walt Ratterman Award for Creative Community Energy |
The Walt Ratterman Award for Creative Community Energy was created to recognize and honor Walt Ratterman, one of NABCEP's first Certified Professionals, who was killed while working in Haiti when a devastating earthquake struck. Walt's
extraordinary renewable energy work among some of the worlds most needy was truly inspirational. Walt channeled his efforts into the nonprofit company he co-founded, Sun Energy Power International. The company's mission was "to promote an increased quality of life in remote, rural regions of the world through the use of renewable energy."
The Walt Ratterman Award will be presented to the NABCEP Certified Professional who does the most creative public service-oriented renewable energy project of the year. Installations can be domestic or offshore, but they must be performed at no charge for a not-for-profit or charitable organization. Considerations such as legacy, local labor and material content, on-the-job-training, and project sustainability will help guide the award committee.
Nominees for the award must be NABCEP Certified Professionals in good standing and may work in any technology for which NABCEP offers certifications.
Nominations should include details of the individual nominated, their projects, and the nominator's reasons for the nomination. All nominations should be forwarded to Shawn O'Brien, NABCEP's Executive Director at
[email protected]. Nominations for the award will be accepted until December 31, 2017.
The recipient of the award will be announced at NABCEP's Continuing Education Conference in March 2018.

The 7th Annual NABCEP Continuing Education Conference will be held at the Conference & Event Center in Niagara Falls, NY. This event will take place March 19-22, 2018.
This conference is primarily intended for NABCEP Certified Professionals who need continuing education credits to maintain their certification.
