Dear Supporter,
The world has been shaken by COVID-19. This pandemic has spread more than a virus, it has spread fear and uncertainty. Many individuals are feeling the negative financial effects of the virus, and nonprofits like Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity are feeling it too. While the need for our services to assist families increases, other ways we raise money are becoming more difficult. To keep people safe we are sacrificing funds being raised from our ReStores, we are asking volunteers to stay home, and we cannot make as much progress on our construction projects. We are worried. These funds are critical to us being able to continue our services in the community. We especially need your support now, more than ever.
Your gifts will help us:
  • Finish building a house for Karen and her grandson, who have been homeless for four years
  • Continue serving elderly community members, who are particularly vulnerable right now, through our Aging in Place Program
  • Serve more families with our Homeownership through Preparation and Education (HOPE) Program, allowing us to help more families who need financial counseling to make it through this crisis

Although we may be in isolation, we are still a community of people who need to support each other during our most trying times. Please give now and allow us to continue to build our communities and empower families to achieve financial stability through homeownership. Our work is only possible because of generous gifts from people like you. Thank you for giving so that we can help people through this difficult time and continue supporting families for decades to come.
Sincerely,
Christina Leakey
