MemberHub Sneak Peak
|
Your PTA could qualify for a special sneak peek of MemberHub! In the 2020-2021 school year, all New Mexico PTAs will begin using MemberHub to report membership to New Mexico PTA. But MemberHub is so much more than just reporting membership! Come learn about your PTA's online store, member directory, file sharing, e-newsletters, communication hubs, and more!
Any PTA that is in compliance by Friday, March 13 will be invited to our MemberHub Sneak Peak on Wednesday, March 25. Lunch and training will be provided for your president, treasurer, and membership chair (or their representatives). Your PTA will be able to start using all of the tools provided by MemberHub immediately if you would like, or use this opportunity to get a head start on planning for next year!

Nutrition: More than just eating your veggies

Nutrition: More than just eating your veggies
March is one of our favorite times of year because we get to talk about food-specifically healthy food. National Nutrition Month offers endless opportunities to help your children and students become healthy eaters, which in turn helps improve self-esteem, reduces health risks, and sharpens focus in the classroom.
So how can you encourage good nutrition?
For starters,
explore our interactive Healthy Eating Toolkit, sponsored by Dole, that offers resources to both families and educators on topics like eating healthy on a budget, nutrition education, school food culture, and more. In honor of National Nutrition Month, be the first to view these brand new additions to the toolkit:
Next, get involved at school by organizing an activity or two, like these, that engage the community in getting kids excited about nutrition.
Every action you take to help kids develop lifelong healthy eating habits counts, so make sure you get counted-
tell us what you're doing
at home or at your school so we can include it in our Take Action campaign total. Then share your nutrition actions on social media using #takeaction4healthykids to help get others on board for National Nutrition Month.

What Teenagers Should Know About Energy Drinks
|
Almost one-third of teens between the ages of 12 and 17 consume energy drinks regularly as a way to increase energy, enhance mental alertness, and physical performance. Most are unaware that these caffeinated drinks raise important health concerns.
Help educate your teen on the dangers of energy drinks.
