Bach Vespers
Our Bach Vespers series continues this Thursday, February 20 at 7 pm in the Cathedral with Cantata 106, God's time is the best of all times , by JS Bach.

This is a very special Vespers because Bishop Waldo and his family will be participating in the concert! Bishop Waldo and his wife, Mary, will play the recorder; James Waldo (their son) and Patty Halverson (Mary Waldo's sister) will play Viola da Gamba.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us on Thursday for Vespers.
An Opportunity to Help with Our Dean Search
Searching for a new Dean of Trinity will require not only time and significant effort, but also resources. We are pleased to announce that within the last week, the Trinity Foundation has received a $10,000 grant from a generous philanthropic fund to be used for the new Dean’s Search Fund. Equally important, the generosity does not stop there. The advisor of the fund has also decided to match all offerings of any size up to a total of $10,000!

These funds are a blessing that will enable us to accomplish many things while searching for a new Dean, such as: identifying and visiting potential candidates, and bringing candidates to Trinity; as well as covering transition costs once a new Dean is called (items such as moving expenses and other relocation costs, and activities to introduce the Dean to our parish and our community).

If you would like to support the Dean’s Search Fund and help us reach the goal of a $10,000 match, all contributions are appreciated and no amount is too small. Please make your contribution within the next three weeks - by March 12 - so that the value of your gift will be doubled. Please be sure to designate your check or online payment to the Dean’s Search Fund. If you have any questions, please contact Susie VanHuss, President of the Trinity Foundation Commission, at svanhuss1@bellsouth.net .

Rhythms of Grace and Taize this Sunday
This Sunday, February 23, join us for Rhythms of Grace in Keenan Chapel at 3 pm. Rhythms of Grace is a fun and creative church experience designed for families with children who have special needs, but all families with children are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Please click here to learn more.

Starting this Sunday, and continuing through the season of Lent, the service that’s held in Keenan Chapel on Sunday afternoons will look a little different than it has in recent months. At 6 pm, there will be a celebration of the Holy Eucharist (Rite II); this will be a simple, quiet service that will not include any music or singing. At 6:30 pm, there will be a Taizé service that will include meditative singing and opportunities for contemplative prayer and reflection; this service will not include Holy Communion. This schedule is intended to provide both those who routinely worship at the 6 pm service as well as those who routinely worship on Sunday mornings with the opportunity to make Taizé worship part of their Lenten observance. If you have any questions about this schedule, please contact Canon Grosso ( agrosso@trinitysc.org ) or Laura Rosier ( lrosier@trinitysc.org ).

Bishop Temple Chapter Meeting
Our first 2020 Bishop Temple Chapter meeting will be held on Monday, March 9 at the home of Debbie Yoho (3503 Foxhall Road, 29204). There will be two amazing women speaking at the meeting: Kayla Gilchrist from More Justice ,  and The Rev'd Deacon Dianna Deaderick of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Columbia. Ms. Gilchrist is the area coordinator for More Justice, an initiative in our community that works toward progress in mental health and safe, affordable housing issues. Trinity is proud to play an integral part in this important initiative. Deacon Deaderick coordinates the Fresh Start initiative, which was started at St. Luke’s in October of 2016.

Please join us and learn how these two ministries are taking steps to show mercy and achieve justice for all in our community. We will have refreshments at 10 am and the meeting will begin at 10:30 am. If you have any questions, please contact Patti Trotter at phtrotter@msn.com .

2020 Bazaar: Drop-off Dates and Storage Space Request
The 2020 Bazaar chairs, Kristin Eynon Lowe, Robin Eynon, Gretchen Snyder Hope, and Joy Snyder, are already busily gearing up for an exciting year of preparation ahead!

The drop off dates for 2020 are: April 4, May 16, July 25, August 22, September 26 and October 31. All drop offs will take place at Trinity in the main parking lot from 9 am - 12 pm.

It takes a lot of storage space to house the items that are generously donated in the months leading up to the Bazaar. If you have a free room or storage space available that the Bazaar could use to keep these items until the big day in November, please let us know. Space is at a premium at Trinity, and renting a storage unit is expensive, so any space that Trinity members could provide would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the chairs at trinitybazaar@trinitysc.org if you are able to help.
First Aid, CPR and AED Training
Join us on Saturday, March 7, from 8 am - 2 pm in the Edward Room for a First Aid, CPR, and defibrillator training.

Everyone is welcome, but the following groups are especially encouraged to attend: usher teams, greeters, anyone working with children and youth, altar guild, flower guild. Please bring a bagged lunch and wear comfortable clothes, as we will be working on the floor.

Be prepared to help someone in need or even save a life. It could be one of your family members. Being trained does not put you at a higher risk of liability. To reserve your spot (there is a maximum of 12 seats available for this class), please contact Mary Ellen Haile at 803.960.4225 or maryellen6313@gmail.com .
