Dear Friends and Neighbors:

Our office is aware there are still a large number of homes in neighborhoods along Memorial Dr. in west Houston that are still without power. We were informed that CenterPoint Energy's  Memorial substation, along with a number of key circuits, are still inundated with water, affecting approximately 5,700 customers in and around the area. CenterPoint is working diligently to restore power.  You will remain without power until CenterPoint is able to construct a workaround.

If you do not currently have power,  please visit CenterPoint's outage center to find additional information: http://gis.centerpointenergy.com/outagetracker/?WT.ac=OC_Image_Callout

You can also call CenterPoint Customer Service at 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143.

If your house has standing water in it (or if your apartment or high rise has standing water on the first floor), and you live between I-10 on the north, Highway 6 on the west, Briar Forest on the south, and Gessner on the east, your power was intentionally shut off by CenterPoint and you are required to evacuate your home or apartment.

If you either (a) do not have standing water in your house (or if the first floor of your apartment or high rise does not have standing water on the first floor), or (b) do not live in the evacuation zone described above, and you do not have power,  please visit CenterPoint's outage center to find additional information:  http://gis.centerpointenergy.com/outagetracker/?WT.ac=OC_Image_Callout or  call CenterPoint Customer Service at 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143. They will get your power turned back on. There may be other issues, though, like downed transmission lines or transformer fires that will keep your power off until repairs are made.  The outage center link above will provide you information if this is the case.

We have received too many emails about electrical power to respond to them all individually.  We will be forwarding them to CenterPoint for resolution, but we will be unable to provide you a response at this time.
