2015 TMA Mid-Atlantic Symposim
The 2015 TMA Mid-Atlantic Symposium, hosted by the Philadelphia, Chesapeake and New Jersey chapters of TMA, will take place June 10th-11th at Caeser's in Atlantic City. This year's conference has a great line up of educational and networking programs including special NextGen and NOW events.
One of the great highlights of this year's conference will be the Symposium's keynote speaker. The symposium is excited to host Andrew Fastow, former Chief Financial Officer of Enron Corporation from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Fastow, who served six years in federal prison following a guilty plea on two counts of securities fraud, will offer fascinating insight into the pitfalls and loop holes that not only brought Enron down, but also challenged corporate America.
Mr. Fastow is well versed on corporate governance issues and consults with Directors and Officers of public companies on how to best identify critical finance, accounting, compensation and related issues. In the era of Sarbanes-Oxley and growing scrutiny of public company business practices, Mr. Fastow's keynote speech is expected to provide timely insights.
The TMA Mid-Atlantic Symposium has become the gold standard in regional conferences because it brings a talented group of professionals together and has consistently relevant and insightful educational programming.
We look forward to you joining us at the 2015 TMA Annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium. Click here for details and to register.

Capmark Financial Group Announces Fourth Quarter 2014 Earnings
On April 28, 2015, Horsham-PA based Capmark Financial Group released full year results for 2014. The company reported a 300% increase in net income over the prior year, increasing its cash position by $85 million.
The announcement was the latest in a series of upbeat news by the company, which emerged from bankruptcy in September 2011. Just over a year ago, the company announced a strategic investment by Centerbridge Partners, a private investment firm with more than $20 billion under its management. In September 2014, Capmark announced its $565 million acquisition of Bluestem Brands, a multi-brand, online retailer of name-brand and private label general merchandise.
Bluestem serves the low-to-middle income consumers segment nationwide, operating through its Fingerhut, Gettington.com and PayCheck Direct brands. The Bluestem transaction, that closed in November 2014, was funded in part through a $300 million term debt facility provided by Credit Suisse, Jefferies Finance LLC and KeyBank National Association, and an ABL facility by U.S. Bank.
Capmark and Bluestem Brands were advised by Houlihan Lokey and Lazard Middle Market, respectively.
Prior to its voluntary bankruptcy filing on October 25, 2009 in the District of Delaware, Capmark's primary business was commercial real estate finance.
