St John's Choir
The new season for our parish choir begins in less than a month. Have you ever thought of singing in the choir? Do you know of someone who might enjoy being a member of the choir? The beginning of the season is a great time for new members to join.

Recital
Sunday
August 12th 1 pm
A recital of music for voice and piano given by Matthew Li and Jonathan Wong. Matthew was a choral scholar at St John's, where he studied voice with Cara Gilbertson-Boese.
Matthew is now going into his third year as a voice major at the University of Toronto.
His recital will include music by Schubert, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Verdi. All are welcome to come hear this short recital.

Memorial for
Dorothy Jensen

Dorothy Jensen (also known as Dorothy Jensen-French), a resident of Rothwell Heights & Sandy Hill, was a long-time parishioner of St. John's, and an active member of our Bridge Club prior to 2010. In celebration of what would have been her 94th birthday, her daughter Lisa Jensen will be holding a memorial for her mother in our Parish Hall on Tuesday, August 14th at 2 pm. A few hands of bridge will follow immediately after the memorial.
All are welcome, especially fellow bridge players!

Basic Training Program
Fall 2018

Each spring and fall the
Ottawa Pastoral Care Training Program (OPCTP)
offers a Basic Course in Pastoral Care that consists of 25 hours of training, offered in afternoon or evening sessions each week, for 10 weeks.
The next Basic Training Course begins on Monday, September 17, 2018 and runs for 10 weeks (excluding Thanksgiving Monday) until November 26.
