Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance
about what we do not see.

St. Stephen's parish will have its Spring Raffle Fiesta May 12, 5-9:00 p.m. The celebration begins with a bilingual Mass at 5:00 p.m. in the church, then continues in the Faith Community Center with lively mariachi music, authentic Mexican food, folkloric dancing, cash raffle, refreshing beverages and more! An optional childcare fiesta will take place in the school. The kids will enjoy dinner, crafts, inflatable, games and more!

The raffle is truly the bread and butter of this event. The proceeds of the Spring Raffle  are a critical part of the operating budget and provide for our many ministries. Our goal this year is $85,000. Raffle ticket packets are in the Gathering Space on weekends and in the parish office during the week. Thank you in advance for buying or selling your tickets!
Catholicism and Protestantism - Which One is More Biblical?   by Fr. Joe Kuharski

I recently had a conversation with a man here in Anoka, who after introducing himself, mentioned that he "grew up" Catholic, at which point my heart sank.  I told him that I was sorry to hear that, as I usually do, but I could tell that he believed that this was not by any means a sad thing, but that now he has encountered something newer and supposedly more biblical. He started to reveal, though, that his family had not really been too close to their Catholic faith, and we launched into a long debate (yet nevertheless cordial in tone) about whether or not the Catholic faith is the true faith given to us by Jesus Christ Himself.  I have heard from other Catholics about their difficulty in talking to others and trying to explain why the Catholic Church is, indeed, the one true Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself, whether this be to colleagues, friends, or their own children or grandchildren.

In this three-part series, I would like to look at some of the questions we might have about how the Catholic Church is the same Church as the early Christian Church, and, more importantly to the Protestant mindset, is also the most biblical. Join us Sunday evenings, April 22, 29, and May 6 from 7:15-8:30 p.m. in FCC 10.
