Does your company have a Build Iowa Contact?
Out-of-Country Registration Deadline - October 11th
Upcoming Sponsorships Available for MBI Events
As you know, MBI has been focusing efforts on workforce development and recruitment in Iowa schools. Last September, we sent a survey out to the membership about designating a Build Iowa Contact for your company. Build Iowa Contacts receive information about workforce development initiatives and are forwarded requests that we receive from Iowa schools looking to be connected with a local contractor.

We want to again extend the invitation to all member firms to designate a Build Iowa Contact for your company if you have not done so. CLICK HERE to view a list of companies that HAVE a Build Iowa Contact to see if your company is participating. If you do not see your company on this list and want to designate someone as your Build Iowa Contact, please contact Micah Loveless at [email protected] or (515) 657-4398.
Are you planning to join us in Playa del Carmen for our Out-of-Country Excursion March 1 - 6, 2018? If so, be sure to submit your registration form soon, before the October 11th deadline.

MBI Member Testimonials
How has being a member of MBI made a difference to you and your company? Why are you a dedicated member of the Association? Are you willing to share your positive view of MBI membership?

We are looking to our MBI members from across the state for testimonials that we can use to attract more of Iowa's contracting community to MBI membership.   If you, or someone from your company, are willing to provide thoughts on why it is important to belong to the Association, please contact Tania Bowman at [email protected] or (515) 657-4390 to get started!

The workforce shortage has been at the forefront of our industry's collective mind for the better part of the last year. To combat this, as you know, MBI has worked with our membership to put together a program for recruiting young people into the industry, and we will soon be entering the second year of that initiative.
We began the workforce initiative with two objectives. First, develop a campaign that attracts the younger generation to our industry by highlighting a variety of benefits and comparisons to other industries. Second, develop tools that can be easily utilized by you, our membership, to recruit those same young people into your individual companies. >>>Read More

In 2012, Master Builders of Iowa celebrated 100 years of striving to be the essential resource for improving member performance and promoting a business environment favorable to the construction industry.  (Maybe repeating the MBI Mission Statement has rubbed off on me as well.)  Not many things live to be 100 years old.  It takes a great deal of commitment, hard work and support to be around for a century.  And that is exactly what the Iowa construction industry has been giving to MBI decade after decade.  A century of individuals have put their company hats aside in order to guide MBI with a commitment to the industry and vision for the future.  MBI would not have celebrated 105 years on April 27th if it weren't for a strong tradition of MBI members giving of themselves to contribute their time, talent and energy to pushing the association forward.  This tradition of dedicated leadership and time honored commitment to the industry is the type of support that will allow MBI to continue hitting milestones for decades to come.>>>Read More

It's pretty easy to say that the MBI conference room is where all the magic happens.  And by magic, I mean hundreds of meetings a year that generate countless ideas and initiatives for the association.  Combine all the MBI Board, Associate Council, committee, staff, and other business meetings, you're probably looking at over 1,000 meetings with over 200 different individuals in one year alone!  It would be fun to know the number of different people that have sat around that table in the past 10, 20, even 50 years.  If you have ever sat in one of those chairs in the MBI conference room, have you taken the time to look around?>>>Read More
