artArt Adventures Coordinator

St Mike's is currently looking for a parent volunteer to be the Art Adventures Coordinator for 2018-2019.  Art Adventures is a program through the Minneapolis Institute of Art in which one (or two) parent volunteers from each classroom in grades K-4 from St Mike's takes a tour of MIA looking at approximately 6 art pieces.  These art pieces are all tied together by a theme (i.e. American art, "Let's Celebrate" (pieces depicting how people in different cultures/time periods celebrate), etc).  The parent volunteers then go back to the school once/month and teach the students about 1 of these art pieces per month and then do a simple art project relating to the theme.

Responsibilities of the Art Adventures coordinator are pretty minimal and include the following:
1) Spring time each year: Sign the school up for an art theme with Minneapolis Institute of Art for the following school year (5-15 minutes)
2) Fall: send a letter to each K-4th grade teacher soliciting 1-2 parent volunteers/classroom to be an Art Adventure volunteer for the school year
3) Late September/early October:  Communicate to the Art Adventure volunteers information regarding their required training and answer questions.

Please let me know if you have questions or would like further clarification on the program.

Thank you for your consideration!

Faithful Beginnings Summer Program
Faithful Beginnings at St. Michael Catholic School is excited to launch our Preschool Summer Program!  We have spent countless hours planning a fun, engaging, educational preschool program.  Registration was opened for families that are registered for the 2018-2019 school year.

Mrs. Melanie Brower will be our lead supervisor throughout the summer.  I will be joining in on the fun a couple days a week.  We are working on staffing assistant teacher positions as well.

If your child will be attending kindergarten in the fall, they would qualify to attend Summer Adventures Plus, our school-age program.

If know of anyone interested, please pass this along!  We will be maxing our program at 18-20 students per day
