Wall O Generosity
This is almost your last chance! Please give to support the youth missions. Why do we ask you to give? Because these trips can cost 500-600 per person and many families send multiple kids on multiple trips. Your donations also help make it possible to fully cover the cost for our adult leaders who give up their own paid vacation time to lead our youth. These trips can be life-changing. Two of our college students are working summer jobs at the Appalachia Service Project and Montreat, that's how big an impact these trips have had on their lives. Thank you for your support!

Ash Wednesday service, 2/26 7:30 pm
Lent begins next Wednesday with our Ash Wednesday service. Join us in the sanctuary at 7:30 for Holy Communion and imposition of ashes. Let us mark the beginning of this season together.

Lent Bible Study led by the Pastors
Monday nights during Lent, explore the wilderness along with your pastors, using the lectionary texts
from the Gospels of Matthew and John. Bible study
will be in the sanctuary, from 7-8:30 pm on Mondays during Lent, March 2-30.

S pecial Adult Sunday school during Lent, 9:30 room 105/106
We will be joined by Pastor Shelby's friend and colleague, Shani McIlwain, who will lead a special class during the season of Lent.
The class will focus on her prayer devotional: 30 days to renew your heart, mind and soul. Lent is a wonderful time to renew ourselves and grow closer to God.
Shani is the author of two bestselling devotionals. Using prayer as a catalyst for change, Shani teaches audiences how to apply prayer habits into daily practices.
Shani is an active Elder at Faith Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC where she leads bible study, many women's events, and small groups.  She is an executive coach and entrepreneur.

Lectionary Bible Study continues
Join a small group Bible study led by members on Sundays at 9:30. This group gathers to pray and read scripture and studies the passages the pastor will be preaching on. There is good conversation and fellowship, all are invited! Room 105/106 in the Education Building.

Do you want to hang out with the youth group?
The youth group is looking for volunteers to make and serve meals for our Sunday evening suppers. If you are interested in providing a meal for our amazing youth  group, please contact Barb Welsh at [email protected]. Thank you!

In our prayers this week:

~ Christine Richardson (cousin of Ryan Richardson) was recently diagnosed with
stage 4 breast cancer and will be starting treatment this week. She and her
husband have four small children, and she is the primary breadwinner, so the
challenges to the family are great.

~ Erin Craig, who sang in the Saint Mark choir with Lizzie Bartlett back when
they were in high school, passed away on Sunday after a tough two-year
battle with leukemia. Please remember her family in your prayers this week.

Karl Schweitzer (son of Margaret Schweitzer) who was operated
on for prostate cancer on February 19th in Massachusetts.

Please remember Fred Rich, a member of the Friends' Class in your prayers.
He is scheduled to have Outpatient Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital on
  February 10.

~ Phyllis Norrie, home from surgery.
