PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS:  What is Data Science?
Many of us, both individually and within our companies are struggling to underst and 'What is data science?' or 'Are we data scientists?' and if not then 'How are we different?'

During the conference, on the Tuesday afternoon, there will be two sessions focusing on the new world of data science and how it relates to us as statisticians, which will include a combination of both industry and academic speakers. The sessions will be hosted by Cytel and will cover the following talks:

-        Analysis of high dimensional data (big data) in clinical trials
  • With three talks focusing on drug development, genetic algorithms and accelerometry data
-        Applications of Data Science in Pharmacovigilance and Post-Marketing Data
  • With three talks focusing on the application and techniques of data science, the practical experiences in the characterisation of drug safety profiles and the complex healthcare challenges we face
SPOTLIGHT ON: Social Programme
The PSI 2018 Conference will provide plenty of opportunities for you to socialise and network with other delegates, from the Sunday evening social event to a morning jog and the career young statisticians networking event on Monday. Below we have highlighted two spotlight events that will be taking place.

Monday Networking and Social Event

Tuesday Evening Gala Dinner
On the Monday evening there will be an informal networking and social event held at Hannekes Boom, a local bar in Amsterdam.

At this unique water-side bar you will be able to relax, grab a drink and enjoy the sun setting over Amsterdam with your colleagues.

The venue is within walking distance from the Beurs van Berlage and located near to Amsterdam Central Station.

We look forward to seeing you there from 19:45.

On Tuesday evening the Conference Gala Dinner will be held at the Beurs van Berlage to give you an experience you won't forget!

The evening will start at 19:00 with welcome drinks before sitting down to a fabulous three course meal in the Grote Zaal; the same space where  King Willem-Alexander and Queen
Máxima Zorreguieta were married in 2002. The dinner will be f

There is no formal dress code, but we would encourage you to dress to impress! Please note that this is a ticketed event. Tickets are included in all full conference registrations.
