Brewer Airport Toyota Film Fest
The Brewer Airport Toyota Film Fest is back for its
eight year, with films scheduled to air on June 6, 2020. The Film Festival experienced tremendous success in its previous years. Approximately 75 local filmmakers submitted more than 70 films in a variety of genres.

Thanks to monetary donations from local companies, MCA-TV will be able to award more than $3,000 in prize money to the winners.

For more information, visit www.mca-tv.org/filmfest.
Public Awareness Weekend

Public Awareness Weekend is coming up! This year it will be on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 from 8:30 am- 9 pm.

If you know any non-profits who would be interested, please contact Allison to set that up. Also, if you would be interested in hosting any interviews, let us know!

Stop by for 30 minutes or the all day to volunteer, eat good food, and spend time with friends! If you know you are coming by, let Allison know so we can plan when we will need the most help.
Chick-Fil-A & Moe's Southwest Grill
Do you love Chick-Fil-A or Moe's? Do you frequent these places? Well, you could be of help to MCA-TV's PAW.

This year, donation requests from places are being run a little different. Many companies are moving to a  Receipt Rewards Program. How this works is, anyone associated with MCA-TV can collect their receipts from their visits and submit them for 20% off a catering credit. We would then use this credit for Public Awareness Weekend.

Chick-fil-A  receipts must be from Chick-fil-A Robinson at North Fayette only. No other receipts will be accepted.

Moe's receipts are valid from any western pa location, including, Bridgeville, Bethel Park, Cranberry, Murrysville, Market Square, Robinson, Wexford, Washington, and Erie.

If you save your receipts, please sent them to Allison by March 6 to submit.
STUDIO UPDATE
The studio update is underway! We have began taking out the old control room and will begin the complete remodel in the next week.

What this means for our volunteers is that there will not be any filming done in the studio during the time that the remodel is happening. As soon as it is done, we will let you know so we can start back up.

Once we are up and running, we will also host an open house for volunteers to come in and get familiar with the new setup. Stay tuned for more information in the upcoming month!
Volunteer Spotlight
John Robertson

Meet our newest MCA-TV Advisory Board Member!

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

A.  I'm 66 years old (or young) and have been retired since October 2018, after a 48-year career in radio. Linda, my super wife, and I have been married for 28 years.

Q. How long have you been a volunteer at MCA-TV?

A.  Since May 2019.

Q. What inspired you to take our production class?

A.  I found out about the class from a friend, who had already signed up. Thought it sounded fun and intriguing, so I enrolled, too.

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

A.  Appreciate the opportunity to work with a great group of people (volunteers and staff) to make programs that will be shared with others. Love learning about TV, particularly the technical aspects.

Q. What shows do have you volunteered for at MCA-TV?

A. As many as I can. Moon Landings, Living Style with Lisa, Moon Area High School Football, Senior Workout, Let's Talk About It, Core Conditioning, Get Involved! Moon Township, and Yinz Brewing!

Q. Do you have any other shows you'd like to create in the future

A.  History is a major interest of mine, so I'd like to be able to do something related to the subject. Don't know what avenue that would take at this time, but I'm thinking.

Produce Your Own Show Today!
Do you have an idea for a new show?  MCA-TV is looking for new content!

Producing a show is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Pitch your show idea to Allison Ford
2. Schedule a production date
3. Watch your show on MCA-TV

The rules are pretty simple, any Moon resident can produce a show or non-residents can work with a community producer to sign off on their production and help gather volunteers!

What is a community producer, you ask?
A community producer is a Moon Township resident that has gone through our production course.

If you are not a community producer, we can help pair you up with one!  We currently have about 15 active community producers ready to help you get your show on the road!  The process is easy! Just contact Allison Eastham at [email protected] with information about your idea and you are on your way!
