Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

"I'll never forget"
Easter Sunday 2007 was a morning I'll never forget. We were up north for the weekend at our cabin and during the night it had started to snow. We woke up the next morning to several inches of beautiful fresh powder.
After serving as lead pastor of a church for 6 years, I'd left barely a month earlier when we came to the mutual agreement that, 'this was probably not a good fit.' A polite way of saying, 'Thanks, here's your pink slip, have a nice day!' The weeks leading up to Holy Week I'd been wondering, 'What will it be like on Easter, sitting in the pew instead of preaching from the pulpit?'
Gearing up, I headed outside to clear the snow from the van, loaded our crew, and began the drive to the nearest church. Except...with no traction all we could do was sit there and listen to the wheels spinning! I remember laughing out loud & thinking, "Gonna need a little help here, God!" Some sand...a couple shovels...and a few minutes later we were on our way. Listening to the message of resurrection later that morning at church reaffirmed what I already knew in my heart: if God can breathe new life into His Son, surely God can do the same for my future. An Easter morning I'll never forget.
Church, wherever this weekend finds you: at home, with relatives, on vacation, working a job, or someplace else, I hope you're able to somehow join with other believers to hear again that incredible news proclaimed by the angels at the empty tomb on that first Easter: "Jesus is not here; He is risen from the dead!" It was a moment they never forget, and 2,000 years later, neither can we.

Living for Jesus!

-Ned
