SPARK! Spring Showcase
First Friday, May 4th 5:15pm
at the Wilma Theater!
Save the date for the SPARK! Spring Showcase. The evening will include interactive experiences in multiple art forms, student performances showcasing SPARK! Arts Residencies, and raffles for arts experiences for kids. More details to come! Website!


Big Sky Film Festival - 6th Grade
As part of their SPARK! 6th Grade Enhancement funded by the Bill & Rosemary Gallagher Foundation, all MCPS 6th Graders went to see films in the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. "Drummer Girl" and "The Artifact Artist" were the films shown. Regarding the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival: Kennedy from CS Porter said, "It was interesting seeing how everyone has a role in our world."  Website!

Fusion Concert - 8th Grade
Also, all MCPS 8th Graders attended a performance of the Fusion Concert, thanks to the University of Montana School of Music and the Checota Family Foundation. The middle schoolers got to experience  a plethora of musical forms, including orchestra music, jazz band, choral music, and the steel drum ensemble.



March Artist Integration!

As always, this month there has been a ton of talented teaching artist residencies in Missoula County Public Schools! Heather Adams has been teaching Swing Dancing to 7th Graders, The Drum Brothers have been integrating Drumming and Dance into 1st Grade Classrooms and teaching artist Kelly Bouma has been teaching Social Justice through Creative writing!
