Sharing Resources for Families of Children with Special Health Care Needs

Still searching for a spring break vacation spot? Can't find an accessible house to rent? Look no further than Matching Houses: a house swap exchange for people with disabilities!

Many of us feel lost in the healthcare system, beat up by it and frustrated, and yet we march on, searching for hope and healing. Family Voices' own Cara Coleman speaks to the humanity that can be found and just how much it means.

Start Your Recovery (SYR) provides helpful information for people who are dealing with substance use issues - and their family members, friends, and co-workers, too. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges faced by those who misuse alcohol, prescription or illegal drugs, or other substances, and SYR aims to break through the clutter to help people at any stage of recovery.

National Minority Health Month highlights the health disparities that persist among racial and ethnic minority populations and the ways in which legislation, policies and programs can help advance health equity. Connect to the email and social media updates to get ready to partner for health equity!

CoIIN CMC... oh boy, another acronym and what does it have to do with me and my family?  The Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN) to Advance Care for Children with Medical Complexity (CMC) is funded by HRSA and tasked with testing and spreading promising care delivery strategies and payment models for children with medical complexity.

How does this help my child now? If you are in one of the 10 CoIIN states, be on the lookout for a new program or initiative in which you may be able to participate. If you are not in one of the CoIIN test states, follow what is going on in the other states, learn, share, and know that new strategies for care are coming! Family Voices is proud to be a collaborating partner on this project.
