"Behold, I have inscribed you
on
the
palms of My hands."  - Isaiah 49:16

Greetings in the Name of  our Risen Lord Jesus Christ!

Consider the hands of Jesus. These are hands that held a carpenter's hammer, hands that blessed children, hands that opened the blind man's eyes, hands that touched lepers, hands that lifted a little girl from the dead, hands that washed his disciples' feet, hands that broke bread and gave thanks, hands that even healed the ear of the high priest's servant in the Garden of Gethsemane.

These are the hands pierced by Roman nails, held to the wood by excruciating pressure and infinite love.

These are the nail-scarred hands that greeted Mary Magdalene at the tomb - hands she thought belonged to the gardener. These are the nail-scarred hands that the disciples, and especially Thomas were invited to touch, to see if they were real. These are the nail-scarred hands that prepared breakfast for Peter on the beach and reminded him that he was forgiven and called to new ministry.

These are the nail-scarred hands, marks of the Lamb that was slain, which guide us through the highs of Palm Sunday, the lows of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, the silence of Holy Saturday, and the ultimate triumph of Easter Sunday morning.
We invite you this week to take the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ and walk this path with Him. Spend time in the pain and sacrifice. Spend time in the marvel and disbelief. Spend time in the forgiveness and transforming power of the blessing He offers by the touch of His hands.

"For He is our God, and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand."   - Psalm 95:7

Easter Blessings,
Pastor Carolyn

Easter Parking Tips
As you well know, parking on Easter Sunday is always an adventure. If you are able to walk a couple of blocks to church, consider parking on one of the side streets. West of the church, you can park along Church Place, Lavina Ave., Martin Ave., or Kenmont Ave. Next to the Methodist church, you can park along Peermont Ave. There is also a municipal lot at the corner of West Liberty Ave. and Biltmore Ave. Of course, the best parking will be at the 6:30am Sunrise Service!
