A Note from the Headmaster
Dear Parents,
This year the Arete team is working on transparency and partnership with the community, and in that spirit, I want to address the incident that occurred on the Senior trip. After an exhaustive investigation, it was determined that an incident involving Arete students and alcohol occurred toward the end of the Senior trip. The incident did not involve any other substances or sexual misconduct.

This matter is very serious and has been treated as such. While the chaperones did everything that was expected of them, we looked first to ourselves, to determine what needs to be done differently in the future. We also worked with families to help the students involved and hold them accountable for their actions. The consequences of those involved ranged from suspension to expulsion and those, who are returning to our community, are working to rebuild trust and the relationships that were damaged.

There is much misinformation about this event, please redirect these concerns to Ms. Jacobson or me. As a community, we are focusing on helping students move forward and we ask for your partnership in quelling rumors.
Sincerely,

THE FINAL STRETCH
