CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS OF TARGETING BREAST STEM CELLS IN MBC
 
KEY POINTS:
  • Scientists are analyzing how breast cancer stem cells (CSC) influence the growth and spread of tumors
  • CSC can resist chemotherapy and radiotherapy and "self-renew"
  • A combination of anti-CSC therapeutics plus chemotherapy, targeted therapy and/or immunotherapy will most likely be needed to overcome resistance
  • Investigators are recruiting patients for several CSC clinical trials for MBC

9 Telephone Support Groups: Choose What Works for You
Connecting with others living with MBC can help you gather information about treatment, dealing with side effects and coping with the fear and anxiety that a metastatic diagnosis brings.  

SHARE offers 9 Telephone Support Group sessions each month in English and 2 in Spanish.  There are also 2 in-person sessions each month in our NYC office.  

A group meets every Monday at 4 PM ET and the first four Thursdays of the month at 6 PM ET.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION
Want to Help Out?
SHARE offers Helpline and Group support  for women living with metastatic breast cancer.  We currently have 8 active volunteers who are quite busy as calls to the Helpline are continuously increasing. 

We provide training for both Helpline volunteers and support group facilitators.  

Training is about 2-3 hours and can take place via webinar.  If you are interested, please email  Christine.
