Barnes and Noble
Bookfair Fundraiser
Our annual Barnes & Noble Bookfair Concerts took place on December 6-8, 2019. We are thankful to Jo Beth Dellinger of Artist Pianos and her team members Scott Schroeder and Alex Smith for providing and tuning the Essex by Steinway piano.
Special thanks to the 20 teachers and 216 students who performed on the piano, flute, violin, cello, viola, voice, and guitar. Music filled the store with beautiful renditions of holiday, broadway, and classical music. We are thankful to our members, their families and friends, Mark Sherlock, and the Barnes & Noble Erie Blvd. staff for their continued support of this wonderful event.

CNYAMT Instrumental Competition
We are pleased to announce the Central New York Association of Music Teachers Instrumental Competition, which will be held on May 2, 2020. The competition is open to all wind, brass, percussion, and string students, ages 10 through 18, in two divisions. CNYAMT membership is not required to participate.
The winners of each division will perform on the winner's recital on May 3, 2020 at 1:30 pm at Park Central Presbyterian Church. All entrants will receive a certificate of participation and written comments from professional judges.
We have found this competition to be a terrific "warmup" for NYSSMA. Not only does this opportunity give your students the chance to perform, but also to receive comments that will enhance their NYSSMA performance! The deadline for applications is April 17, 2020. An application and pertinent information can be found on our website at
www.cnyamt.org
under the festivals and competitions tab.
We appreciate your consideration, and hope that you will enter your students for this invaluable experience. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact either competition chair, and please pass along this information to anyone you think might be interested!
