Accepting 2018-2019 Amity Intern Host Family Applications
Due to the wonderful outcome of our 2018 Auction we are able to continue our Amity Intern Program for the 2018-19 school-year.  We plan to host 6 interns next year which produces a great need for host families.  We need your help!
As a host family you gain a new unique friendship and learning experience by welcoming an intern from a Spanish speaking country into your home. Additionally, your child will benefit from extra practice and help with their Spanish language skills.

If you are interested, please refer to the  FAQs for more information, then complete the  Amity Program Host Family Application and send it to amity@puestadelsolpta.org. All applications for the 2018-19 academic year must be received by 4/20/18.

Questions? Please contact the Amity committee at amity@puestadelsolpta.org
Puesta del Sol Science Fair and Family STEM Night
Thursday, 4/26 - Register Now!
Register for the Science Fair between now and 4/19.  Use the many online resources to find project ideas, and plan time during Spring break to do research for your awesome projects!  As in past years, having one parent or guardian volunteer at or before the event is mandatory if your student is participating.  If you want to help plan or run the science fair, pre-event volunteers are needed now to ensure a great event again this year. To volunteer, please contact James Dooley at sciencefair@puestadelsolpta.org.
Staff Spotlight: Pati Carpenter
Sra. Pati is Puesta del Sol's multi-talented, veteran art teacher. This is her 3rd year teaching at our school, but her 17th year teaching.

Sra. Pati was born in Mexico and raised in a small border town in Texas. She grew up in a Spanish-only home environment and says that she was essentially an ESL student before the acronym existed.

Sra. Pati graduated from UT with a Bachelors in Fine Arts (ceramics focus) and a Spanish Minor.

Prior to moving to WA with her husband and son, she taught middle school art in Texas and summer camps at Austin's Museum of Art. Sra. Pati and her family love hiking during the PNW summertime.

We're so glad you bring extra joy and creativity to our school!
Art Fest
Wednesday, 4/4 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Puesta del Sol Gym.
art-show.jpg
Families are encouraged to attend and see students' art pieces on display. There will be murals that students created with the SITA (Spanish Immersion Through the Arts) program and projects that each student has made during art appreciation. Sra. Rose will have the Marimba Group performing music during the event and Sra. Brody will be leading some poetry with students.  There will also be interactive art workshops where they can participate in making collaborative art pieces with our SITA artist Adriana Morales. It should be a fun family night!
