PARTNER CORNER
RCPL and the Latino Community Council of Redwood City
This month's partner corner features the Latino Community Council of Redwood City (LCCRC), an advocacy group dedicated to advancing Latinos through civic and community engagement. LCCRC has been active in Redwood City for 10 years. To further their mission and purpose of supporting the Latino community in Redwood City, LCCRC obtained formal non-profit status last year.

For the past eight years one of LCCRC's objectives has been to r aise awareness and support for the Fair Oaks Branch Library. Each week hundreds of individuals and families with children come to the Fair Oaks Library to read, to learn and expand their knowledge and experience. LCCRC is pleased to have donated over $100,000 to the Fair Oaks Branch Library through the Redwood City Library Foundation for books, programs, iPads, early literacy programs and help with the renovation of the library.

In April, the Latino Community Council of Redwood City will host the eighth annual  " Kermes - Dia del Nino community festival on Sunday, April 29, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, in the parking lot adjacent to the Fair Oaks Branch Library. The family-oriented event, features vendor booths, food booths, games and prizes for children, arts and crafts, and performances by local music and dance groups. There is no admission charge for families.
