"Spiritual Principles Revisited"
by Helen Wright & Heather Larson
During this season of reflection [Lent], remembering [Good Friday], and renewal [Easter], "The Five Unity Principles" remind us of our foundational spiritual principles.
Principle One: God is absolute good [and] everywhere present is reflected in this meditation: "I enter into the stillness to align myself with the One Mind, the One Presence that permeates all of creation. I feel myself as part of this creation... [and] in this oneness, I sense the order of all things... [and] I know [that] I am one with All."
Principle Two: Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within. Their very essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good, is supported in this meditation: "As I turn within, I retreat from outer awareness and enter my Soul, the divine in me... it is here that I receive wisdom and guidance... that I am strengthened and comforted... and from the God within me, I can do anything."
Principle Three: Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought, is represented in this meditation: "I am fully divine and fully human... I am on Earth to express God as me... what I believe comes to me...the future is mine to design."
Principle Four: Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good, is evident in this meditation: "In the stillness of my heart, I turn to God within. In my heart, I know my oneness with the Divine... [and] I fear nothing, want nothing, lack nothing...I let Divine light and love flow through me into the world...I surrender to... the blessings that flood my being as I allow the flow of Spirit in and through me."
Principle Five: Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called 'Truth', are not enough. A person must also live the truth that he or she knows, is apparent in this final meditation: "What is mine to do [and] how am I to serve? I have come to this human experience not just for myself but for others, and I stand ready to share God's love with them... I ask for my perfect place of service... I let my light shine to illuminate those in darkness. I let my heart expand for those who need love..."

.....a FUNDRAISER for Unity's Berm and Swale Project*
SUNDAY, APRIL 8
Following 10 am Service Cost: Love Donation Please sign up at Unity if you wish to attend or phone in to reserve a place.
*Mari Jackson, Larry
Metzenbauer
and Dale
Staebell
have been working
on an ambitious plan to
fix the drainage problem on the south side of our building.
The
plan is based on
a permaculture
swale which is a shallow trench dug along the land's contour, with a berm on the downhill side built with fill and water absorption plantings.
The goal will be to slow/absorb the flow of water down the South hill that has been causing a massive hill
erosion
. Costs of the project will include tool rental, plantings, black dirt. Labor will be provided by the
'Berm & Swale'
team.
On April 8, we will show photos of what this project may look like, as well as a projected cost
figure
