Happy Hour - CRU Food and Wine at the Braves Stadium, March 22, 2018

A group of ladies enjoyed an evening out at the wonderful Suntrust Park and CRU Food and Wine restaurant.

Upcoming Events

TTN is planning events and activities for the upcoming quarter and year.  Please keep connected and discover new opportunities to meet with other members. In doing so, read your emails, check your Facebook Newsfeed page for updates, and attend meetings (Peer Groups, SIGs).

We need a little bit of feedback or suggestions from the membership.  When events are planned we expect at least 4 to 5 people to sign up as a minimum.  Sometimes that is not the case.  We would like to make sure the events we plan are those the majority would like to participate.  Please send suggestions to Peggy Bartolotta at [email protected]

ATLANTA SIGS

We continue to have some great Special Interest Groups (SIGs) activities as part of the Atlanta TTN experience.  If you are interested in a SIG, please let us know so you can be added to the SIGs distribution list to get communications on upcoming meetings.  It's so exciting to see all this new activity with Atlanta TTN.  Share with a friend and let them experience the power of TTN!

Mah Jongg SIG

We had a great time at Rhoda Margolis' house on March 13th. We had two tables (8 players) of ladies and many games. We are very happy that this year we have grown to 10 Mah Jongg players participating in the joy of this game.  If you would like to learn please feel free to come on in.

Next game is 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 3rd at the home of Rebecca Acree, located at 1005 Emory Parc Place, Decatur, GA.  Please RSVP to Elaine Cloward, her information is below.

Here is a snippet of how the game is played and what it means to many people:

We welcome new and seasoned players!

If you are interested in learning, we can teach you.   If interested in participating or have questions, please contact Elaine Cloward at [email protected], 770-883-3161.  We have lots of fun in this group.  Please remember to RSVP!

Meet & Eat SIG

This SIG met on March 14th for a night of Cuban-American cuisine at Mojitos.  The group was smaller but had a great night out.  Downtown Norcross offers an intimate atmosphere with its many shops and restaurants and a variety of things to do.

ATL
The group had a wonderful dinner on a windy and chilly night.  The food at this restaurant is exceptional.

We are heading to Mexico the month of April, dining at Uncle Julio's, located at 1860 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA  30309 (Buckhead restaurant), 6:30 PM, Tuesday, April 10th.

This will be a good time to try some new food and spend time with fellow TTN members.

For questions or suggestions please email Eve Bogan, [email protected]

Ideas for a great place to eat on our tour around the world of food?   Let Eve know and help coordinate!

The group viewed "Game Night" on March 5th.  They attended the day after the Academy Awards and was in a festive mood to view a significant movie.

For upcoming movies
Judy Golden will send out information on the movie and time to those who RSVP or are in the Movie Group (Google Group). Please reach out to Sharon or Judy if you'd like more information or to RSVP.

Living with Purpose - Part Two

Excerpted from an article on Smart Aging, which was in the Aging in Atlanta section of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.  The emphasis is on how to cope with the changes aging can bring.  It should be a positive experience.

This is the second month of giving pointers on "Living with Purpose".

Patricia Boyle, Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago offers these observations:

"Even small goals can help motivate someone to keep going.  Purpose can involve a larger goal, but it's not a requirement.  Older adults often discover a sense of purpose from taking care of grandchildren, volunteering or becoming involved in community service work or religion.  A purpose in life can arise from learning a new thing, accomplishing a new goal, working together with other people or making new social connections
when others are lost."

As a reminder:

TTN is a dynamic national community of professional women, 50 and forward, whose changing life situations lead them to seek new connections, opportunities and resources.

Through TTN, women connect with one another to discover new perspectives and opportunities so they can impact themselves and their community.
