• Paso del Norte OUT Fund vows to raise $1.5 million
  After months of planning, the newly established Paso del Norte OUT Fund will soon begin accepting donations. In partnership with the Paso del Norte Foundation, The OUT Fund represents a growing network of individuals, community groups, faith communities, and businesses working to nurture safe, vibrant, and thriving LGBTA communities in the region.

• 2015 State of the Social Sector Report
  The Nonprofit Finance Fund has released its 2015 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey which focuses on the programmatic, financial, and operational issues facing nonprofits across the U.S.

• LGBT Protections in Health Care
  The Center for American Progress has released an article on sexual orientation and gender identity protections in Health Care including the promising legal approaches that the ACA offers to address anti-LGBT discrimination.

• Special Collection: Immigration Strategies
  The Foundation Center has launched a new special collection on Immigration Strategies that provides a collection of evaluations, case studies, and lessons learned and explores the value of effective collaboration, coordinated messaging, ongoing advocacy efforts, and the importance of long-term, flexible funding. 

Recent Grant Award Announcements

• $1 Million Grant for Journalism Education to Advance LGBT Human Rights
  The University of Missouri has received a $1 million estate gift to support journalism education and research into the connection between American journalism and the advancement of human rights for LGBT people.

• LGBT Group wins Breast Cancer Prevention Grant
  An Atlanta-based agency for statewide LGBT health advocacy was a recipient of a $26,000 grant from the Susan E. Komen Foundation, one of 17 local organizations that split more than $1.5 million for breast cancer prevention work.
