It's almost Pride Month in the US, where dozens of cities will host LGBTQ pride marches, parties, and demonstrations that attract millions of people each year. As our urban areas prepare, we thought it would be interesting to look at the top funded cities for LGBTQ issues and contrast it with available data on LGBT populations in metro areas ... Take a look at the top funded cities!

Donor Meeting on the Rights of LGBTQ Indigenous Peoples

Join Funders for LGBTQ Issues next Friday at the Boston Foundation for International Funders for Indigenous Peoples' first forum on funding for global indigenous LGBTQ issues, disability rights issues,  and climate change. Hear from Indigenous Peoples from Alaska, Bolivia, and Central America as well as some of the leading funders for global LGBTQ indigenous rights. Learn more and register here.

  • Give OUT Day Raises $800,000
    The third annual Give OUT Day raised $800,000. Over 11,000 people donated to 500+ participating LGBTQ organizations. 
  • Paying an Unfair Price 
    The Movement Advancement Project has released a report that paints a stark picture of the added financial burdens faced by LGBT Americans because of anti-LGBT laws.
  • Special Collection: Immigration Strategies
    The Foundation Center has launched a new special collection on Immigration Strategies that provides a collection of evaluations, case studies, and lessons learned and explores the value of effective collaboration, coordinated messaging, ongoing advocacy efforts, and the importance of long-term, flexible funding.

Recent Grant Award Announcements

  • LGBT Group wins Breast Cancer Prevention Grant
    An Atlanta-based agency for statewide LGBT health advocacy was a recipient of a $26,000 grant from the Susan E. Komen Foundation, one of 17 local organizations that split more than $1.5 million for breast cancer prevention work.

Randall Miller
Randall Miller joins the Arcus Foundation as Global Religions Director. Previously, Randall was Senior Program Officer at the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund. Congratulations, Randall!

Ezra Nepon
Congratulations to Ezra for joining the Global Philanthropy Project as their new Associate! Most recently, Ezra served as a Development Coordinator for William Way Community Center and continues as Partner at The Lafayette Practice.
