Kindergarten to Grade 9 Model Seder
We had inspiring and energy filled model sedarim this week.  The theme of the seder was collaborative questioning as students sat in their Olympic groups and asked questions in many different ways. Grade 6-8 Girls decorated the gym in the theme of the Yam Suf and set the tables using the 10 Makkot at each of the tables. Finally, they challenged us in a Hagadah themed coded question game. Grade 2 started things off by singing the order of the seder, Kindergarten asked the Mah Nishtana and Grade 1 asked the 4 questions in several languages.Grade 3 led us in Afikomanz (Headbands game for the seder), Grade 4/5 boys challenged us to find the connection between various objects and Pesach, Grade 6 Boys told us inspiring Divrei Torah, Grade 7-9 Boys put on hilarious reenactment skits of the slavery and freedom of Egypt and Grade 4/5 Girls led all Olympic Groups on an Afikoman Scavenger Hunt! Thank you to Mrs. Mashiah for preparing all the seder foods and to the parent volunteers who helped serve.

Pre-School had their seder  on Friday filled with song and dance led by Morah Miller and Morah Corinne. We were so pleased to see many families were able to make it to the sedarim.

We wish everyone a happy and healthy Pesach filled with lots of questions, answers and meaningful discussion!

Bnai Brith honours Premier Notley
Bnai Brith will be honoring Premier Notley on April 19th. Akiva is a beneficiary of Bnai Brith and we are grateful for their support. We ask everyone to consider supporting Bnai Brith as they honour our premier who has continued to maintain funding for independent schools including Akiva Academy. We receive significant funding from the Alberta Government and are very grateful that in the latest budget passed this week, the funding levels have been maintained. Please show your support!
