We want our students to be healthy and ready to learn, so when in doubt of your child's health, please keep your child home and/or see a doctor. You can complete an
absence form online
or turn one into the office within three days of your child's absence. When your child has been absent for
three or more consecutive days
, the school requires medical excuse from a physician. If you have any questions regarding your child's attendance, please contact the attendance office at (717) 900-5001, ext. 2104. Below is a diagram to help you when making the decision to keep your child home or send them to school.
Warm Regards,
Angela Sugarek

Congratulations to
ninth-grader Jasmine
, who was chosen as our "Student Spotlight." Jasmine was nominated for embodying the
IB attribute
of being a strong
communicator
. Communicators express themselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. They collaborate effectively and listen carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.
During math class earlier this year, Jasmine consistently contributed to the dialogues when they were creating classroom essential agreements. She even stayed on task when her table partners were not successfully following along. Jasmine maintains a positive attitude throughout class, displays respect for others, the classroom environment and herself. Jasmine is a leader in the classroom, especially for her peers. She models active listening and respect, and she verbally prompts her peers to do the same. Way to go, Jasmine. Keep it up!

MYP Design teacher,
Mr. Tyler Kline
, was nominated for displaying the
IB attribute
of being
caring
. Caring individuals show empathy, compassion and respect. They are committed to service and take action by making a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around them.
Mr. Kline not only cares about his students' academic success, but he cares greatly about their well-being. When a student is having a difficult time outside of academics, he makes an effort to talk to them and allows them to be heard. Thanks for all you do to connect with your students, Mr. Kline. You are appreciated!
