What's Happening: East Kentucky and Beyond
Spring is (sort of) Here!:

It appears we will have to wait in anticipation of warmer spring weather since Mother Nature seems to have other plans! With the excitement of spring though, please stay connected with upcoming EKC news and events.

KET Annual Telefund:

AIA EKC participated in the KET Telefund on Saturday, March 17th by providing volunteers to answer the phones during the annual pledge drive at their studios off Cooper Drive here in Lexington. The evening was a success and we appreciate all of the volunteers who made it possible. Thank you for supporting such a wonderful local organization!

Grassroots Convention:

Members of the AIA EKC, CKC and KY converged on San Diego, California last week to participate in the AIA Grassroots Convention.

Grassroots 2018 is an exclusive AIA event for our leaders. The agenda emphasized component leadership and workshops designed to help component officers become more effective chapter and civic leaders. The conference opened doors and provided opportunities for attendees to share knowledge, experiences, and challenges. The premise of this year's Grassroots theme "Leading through Influence," was to demonstrate the impact of influence in improving chapter and firm effectiveness, communities, and the lives of others. Empowering attendees to best serve their chapters, communities and the profession was an integral part of the experience.

The Lexington Emerging Professionals Network (LEPN) was started in October of 2016, to provide architectural emerging professionals in the Lexington area an opportunity to network and participate in fellowship with their peers. The LEPN will hold monthly meet-ups at local restaurants, where all area emerging professionals will be welcomed regardless of AIA membership. The goal of the LEPN is to engage all emerging professionals in the larger Lexington architectural community.
