Are You Posting Your Job Openings on the Free Construction Job Board?

Only MBI members can post career and internship opportunities on the construction job board and it is at NO CHARGE! If you are new to the Job Board, simply go to mbi.ourcareerpages.com to get started. Once on the site, click on the Employer Registration button that is in the middle of the page. Fill out your company information and hit submit to begin the process. Your information will then be sent to MBI to confirm that you are a member of the Association. Once the approval process is completed, you will be contacted by BirdDogHR to get your company profile ready to start posting jobs!

Don't forget to include entry level positions if you are ready to hire anyone ready to enter the workforce. We are beginning to see an increased interest in the construction industry and they are looking for entry level positions. With the workforce shortage affecting many of our member firms, we encourage all companies that are looking for entry level positions to post those openings on the construction job board.

The construction job board is advertised in multiple locations and is directly linked to the Career Center on BuildIowa.org, so don't miss the opportunity to advertise your open positions for free!

If you need any assistance or have any questions, please contact Micah Loveless at [email protected] or 515.657.4398.

You don't have to go anywhere to get tailored in-person training for your company. Your entire team can benefit from onsite training by creating your own custom day of training covering topics that are important to you. MBI can work with you to plan a day of sessions that either all employees can attend, or a program that you identify specific employees to attend throughout the day. We understand that every company's training goals are unique and MBI's Training-on-Demand is here to assist in bringing you a customized training program to fit your specific needs.

If you are ready to begin work on creating your custom day of training, or for any questions, please contact Tom Fulcher at (515) 657-4395 / [email protected].
Home Base Iowa (HBI) is a one-of-a-kind program connecting veterans and transitioning service members with HBI partners and resources. HBI connects qualified veterans looking for career opportunities with businesses that are looking to hire skilled workers. If your company is not currently registered with Home Base Iowa and you are looking to hire skilled workers, go to the HBI website today to create an account for your company. By creating an account on the site, you will be able to create and edit your company profile and review resumes that veterans are submitting to Home Base Iowa. Once a veteran uploads their resume to HBI, registered companies will be notified if qualifications and locations match their company profile.

The workforce shortage has been at the forefront of our industry's collective mind for the better part of the last year. To combat this, as you know, MBI has worked with our membership to put together a program for recruiting young people into the industry, and we will soon be entering the second year of that initiative.
We began the workforce initiative with two objectives. First, develop a campaign that attracts the younger generation to our industry by highlighting a variety of benefits and comparisons to other industries. Second, develop tools that can be easily utilized by you, our membership, to recruit those same young people into your individual companies. >>>Read More

In 2012, Master Builders of Iowa celebrated 100 years of striving to be the essential resource for improving member performance and promoting a business environment favorable to the construction industry.  (Maybe repeating the MBI Mission Statement has rubbed off on me as well.)  Not many things live to be 100 years old.  It takes a great deal of commitment, hard work and support to be around for a century.  And that is exactly what the Iowa construction industry has been giving to MBI decade after decade.  A century of individuals have put their company hats aside in order to guide MBI with a commitment to the industry and vision for the future.  MBI would not have celebrated 105 years on April 27th if it weren't for a strong tradition of MBI members giving of themselves to contribute their time, talent and energy to pushing the association forward.  This tradition of dedicated leadership and time honored commitment to the industry is the type of support that will allow MBI to continue hitting milestones for decades to come.>>>Read More

It's pretty easy to say that the MBI conference room is where all the magic happens.  And by magic, I mean hundreds of meetings a year that generate countless ideas and initiatives for the association.  Combine all the MBI Board, Associate Council, committee, staff, and other business meetings, you're probably looking at over 1,000 meetings with over 200 different individuals in one year alone!  It would be fun to know the number of different people that have sat around that table in the past 10, 20, even 50 years.  If you have ever sat in one of those chairs in the MBI conference room, have you taken the time to look around?>>>Read More
