The Jazz in the Park event this past June drew record crowds to Greenville Street Park. Bumpin the Mango, a popular jazz band came and performed.

Projects 
Protocol - McIntosh Parkway Progress
This project is the design and construction of a parkway that will connect Newnan Crossing Bypass to Greison Trail. This will alleviate much of the traffic that is now on Lower Fayetteville Road. Grant funds have been awarded through the SRTA GTIB. The funding source will be the Grant, SPLOST 2007, SPLOST 2013 and Impact Fees. The construction is UNDERWAY! Anticipated completion; late 2018 or early 2019.
What's new this quarter? City website redesign
The City went through a website redesign in the second quarter. It was time for a refresh on the site and some new options have been added such as the language translator and larger graphics that tell the story of the City.

What's new this quarter at Keep Newnan Beautiful and Street Department? Tire Amnesty Day

Keep Newnan Beautiful held two recycling events in the second  quarter. The Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event was held on May 6 in the city hall parking lot. It was a very successful event with 13 tons of electronics collected and over 10 tons of paper shredded.
 
The Tire Amnesty event was held on June 10th and collected 465 tires. The Newnan Public Works Department assisted with the event by providing equipment and additional staff.
