T/ES Formative Calibration/Recalibration
- Are evaluators giving formative feedback that is useful and specific to teachers, educational specialists, and school administrators?
- What format should this feedback contain?
- Are evaluators using phrases such as "as evidenced by" or "observed through?"
This training allows evaluators to calibrate to maintain rater reliability and objectivity. Many districts like to attend together or have their liaison come to them to facilitate rater reliability within the administrative team.
Per state requirements, evaluators of teachers must complete the Effectiveness Project evaluator certification requirements prior to using the Effectiveness Project evaluation model and calibrate every semester. This workshop fulfills the calibration requirement.
